Didn't matter... It's gone now. Ha!

In all seriousness, early versions of the S probably didn't have the best of the best battery tech. High mileage, free super charging.. both of those probably degrade the battery quicker, so Tesla stepped up and replaced the battery under warranty.[/quote

Interesting, I thought Tesla batteries didn’t give issues

I know they have an 8 year warranty but if it’s a private sale would the warranty not transfer to the new owner?

It should transfer, but is that 8 year warranty just the battery? No general warranty so. I'm not entirely familiar with the Tesla warranty to be fair.

    Battery & drive unit.

Battery and drive trains are replaced with refurbished units, not newer tech. This is evident if you ask seller for Tesla paperwork.

My stuff for sale on Adverts inc. EDDI, hot water cylinder, roof rails...

    Partly false/
If you have an X90 or S90 you will get a 100 pack software limited to 90

Also, when bjorn got a replacement DU in optimus, it was a new motor.

Great price for a car with such a sweet warranty. Most people would get the full 2 years out of it. I agree with you, I doubt it will last more than a few hours. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of people out there looking for a car just like this one.

    Was looking at this earlier!
    Priced as pretty basic spec!
No free super charging (not worth much anyway)
    No sound upgrade etc
    Still though....

ANYBODY WANT TO BUY AN I3????!! :D

Wow, 10 hours later and it's still there!

Maybe a combination of lack of autopilot and Covid uncertainty?

With AP1 it would be GBP4-5,000 more expensive :p

Interesting BTW that all CPO models even the oldest pre-AP1 cars now seem to come with no free supercharging and only 30 days premium connectivity (mine came with lifetime free premium connectivity and lifetime free supercharging only 3 months ago)

That first link you posted is actually a decent deal, a 2016 with Autopilot for £35k on CPO warranty isn't bad!

I don't get the fawning over free super charging! We have 3 stations in Ireland for supercharging, and the Model S has damn good range. How much is that free supercharging really worth?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Nedved85

It would be pretty beneficial for myself. The missus is originally from a spot ten mins from a supercharger.

Would be handy for someone doing a regular cork/Limerick to Dublin trip.

I agree with your point though.

Very little at the moment. Unless you plan to take the car on long continental trips.

Although there should be new superchargers in Enfield in Sandyford by the end of the year, so if you're in Dublin (or close to any of the other superchargers) you could easily get 100% of the electricity for your car for free. And if you have a power wall, you could power your house for free too. I have no plans to do so, but I could if I wanted to. Almost as easy as plugging the car into the home charger at night... If you'd do that, you could save yourself a couple of thousand euro per year.

Worth nothing to most of us, including myself. That’s why I stated it in my
Post. But, it’s a nice option to have for selling on as I assume we
will get some new SC’s over time?

Perhaps, but giving the rate of change here, buy with that you know, not what you think.

Let’s say one was to pay the deposit.
Can you actually travel to London by plane at the moment and then get a ferry home?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,932 Mod ✭✭✭✭slave1

It typically takes 4 weeks to be ready for pickup so you will have time to organise.

It will take several weeks between clicking the buy it now button and you getting a delivery appointment. And you can easily postpone that appointment once you get it. So we are talking a month from now really.

I don't know about flights and ferries. Just for the craic, I just had a look on Ryanair's website and it lets me pick a flight to Manchester for later this month. And afaik, ferries have been operating as normal throughout this crisis. This country depends on them for our supplies.

Oh, and there are unresolved planning issues with the Enfield site, that was supposed to be done way before the current ones, they just keep changing the year of install these past 3 years.

Think you will find it’s one year premium connectivity despite Tesla saying 3 months.

Tesla is saying 30 days :p

Same now for all Teslas, new or second hand. Even a brand new Model X doesn't get lifetime unlimited premium connectivity any more (I think since last week)

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,932 Mod ✭✭✭✭slave1

Well maybe things have changed but they were advertising CPOs with 30 day connectivity and folk getting way past that, Teslascout is reporting that car I linked as having 1 yr connectivity

    :)
    I PM’d you.

I’d like a MS but I’m not buying a Tesla just to have a ‘Tesla’ if you get me.
I want or hope for a performance model.

It’s like Going to buy A 535 and when
You get there only the 530 is left....

Mind is all over the shop!
