Pitch tickets will definitely drop, but you'll need to be mightily quick!

Will be a big drop for Dublin because of the large pitch and the Pitch 2 / Pitch 1 layout.
I reckon there are thousands of Pitch 2 tickets to drop.

Im going to keep an ye on TM for the next few weeks at work. I got the obstructed view yesterday, so Im already in the door. But pitch 2 would be absolutely lovely.

Edit: does anyone know of any decent pub near Twickenham to watch the Munster final on Sunday?.... Slim pickings I'd say

Ticketmaster just sent me the stage times for next weekend in London.
U2 on at ten past eight !
So they start at nine in the US where it gets brighter earlier ,yet they want to start 50 minutes earlier here .
That's too early to get the full effect of the screen.

I doubt they will make any changes.

The gigs on the continent will start later then Uk and Ireland,we have stupid curfews in place.
Barcelona and Rome will start after 9 ,Amsterdam is indoors ,so that would be a good spot to see them as well.

Ya I had my finger on the trigger today for the lower Davin Stand ticket but I couldn't pull it.

Whats the sound like in the Davin Stand at a gig? I was on the pitch for the Vertigo tour 12 years ago and the sound was class. Haven't heard good stories about the sound from the stands in Croker though.

I would avoid lower Davin if possible. Been in it for a few gigs (U2 being one) and it was poor. Really lacking in volume and oomph. So far back as well you just feel disconnected.

Speaking of Lower Davin, looks like this could be the view for some of us

Be shocked if they came on that early! Closer to 9 I'd imagine. Maybe they trying to get everyone to arrive early to counter the additional security checks.

Twickenham has a strict curfew of 10.30 .
U2 had to start there early in 2005 as well ,I remember the furore about it.

Whats the view/sound like in the upper tiers in the Cusack and Hogan Stands? Does the sound not get lost the higher up you are in the stands? Id say been in the Upper Davin is a complete waste of a ticket.

Was at the first concert U2 did in Croker last time around and that night the sound was terrible in back of Hogan/corner of Davin.
Improved after that though when they got the Twitter backlash.
Pitch will be the best place but standing tickets still impossible to get.

any other venues do the pitch 1/pitch 2 thing?

just wondering how it has been working if at all?

Nope ,Dublin is the only venue on the tour with the 2 pitch areas.
Pitch 2 is Green Route ,enter via Clonliffe/St Josephs Avenue.
Pitch 1 is Red Route ,enter via St James Avenue and Foster Terrace.

The Coldplay concert is using 3 pitch areas ,wheras its only one pitch area for the rest of the tour from what I can see.

Cheers bud, secured a ticket. I wanted a pitch ticket but for €44 I'll definitely take crap seats to see my favourite band play.

Seem to be gone again. Are these under full price ticket or the obstructed view?

Just slip into the lower level and watch from the back of the last row of seats up closer to the stage. Simple.

Is that allowed though? I've never been in the nosebleeds at a Croke Park concert before, would the view from Upper Davin be any way decent? The sound quality is also a worry.

so do you think they will actually split the pitch up or is it just for access?

my guess is that it is just gonna be for access :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 919 ✭✭✭lambayire

Nah I think they have to split the pitch up.

Looking at the map on Ticketmaster, you'd be a bit pissed off if you were to rock up
not long before the gig started with a Pitch 2 ticket and end up down near the Davin
    end.

Is there any point in queing early if you have a Pitch 1?

Pitch 2 being the area closest to the stage. Don't see why not.
Although God only knows how the queue will be working for this one.
U2 fans seem to have their own queue system especially for the American gigs.

    I haven't queued since Popmart!
