    Favourite video
Wasn't included as a category but I think that this Nick Cave clip, given the background to the album he released this year, is beautiful.

    I also love this one.

A slimmed down poll this year - it strikes me that we are an endangered species on the Music forum.

I didn't include any EPs but Aphex Twin's 'Cheetah' was wonderful.

I never did get aphex twin..come to daddy and a few others ok but can't say I would know much of his work but I do know one of the tracks on that EP as it turns out .. due to the video being shot in Dublin by a 13 year old .

Granted I don't even watch too many music videos, but Tegan and Sara deserve a round of applause for placing as many subtle sexual references into a music video as possible.

I've been very bad listening to music this year. Plenty of songs I've loved this year, harder to think of albums.
And I went to very few gigs, so the highlights were all clustered in the final two months of the year.

    Songs
Little Green Cars - Easier Day
    Radiohead - Identikit
Leonard Cohen - You Want It Darker
Birdy - Keeping Your Head Up
    Samaris - Wanted 2 Say

    Albums
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Skeleton Tree
Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
    Savages - Adore Life
    David Bowie - Blackstar
    The Jezabels - Synthia

    Gigs
Little Green Cars - Vicar Street, December 2016
Jimmy Eat World - Olympia Theatre, November 2016
Grace Jones - Metropolis, November 2016
    Moderat - Metropolis, November 2016

    Videos
Don't really watch music videos much but I'll throw in the entire "One More Time With Feeling" documentary.

    Biggest disappointment
    M83 - Junk

    Albums:

Bowie - he left on a high, genuinely his best since the 70s.
Radiohead - I blow hot and cold on RH, but I think this may be their best work.
Lambchop - quite different to their previous records, works better as a whole than as individual songs
Avalanches - better than expected after a 16 year wait
Metronomy - grew on me the more I listened to it, unlike their last album which was disappointing.

    Songs:

King Creosote - "You just want"
    Pixies - "Classic Masher"
Cate le Bon - "What's not mine"
    Whitney - "No Woman"
    Parquet Courts - "Dust"

    Gigs:

Only gig I went to this year was Super Furry Animals, which was pretty good.

Your top 5 Albums (no order)

Drugdealer - The end of comedy (hippy dippy folk rock, 70's laurel canon vibes abound)
Vinyl Williams - Brunei (head spinning, lush spaced out loveliness, drowned in reverb)
Morgan Delt - Phase Zero (spaced out mellow neo psychedelia. Not as good as his debut, but still good)
Mild high club - Skiptracing (yacht rock, but played underwater)
Vanishing Twin - Choose your own adventure (fans of broadcast, stereolab & the soundcarriers might like this)

Your top 5 songs (no order)

The Lemon Twigs - These words (Cracking 70's style power pop by 2 teenage brothers)
Drugdealer featuring Weyes Blood - Suddenly (I love weyes blood's languid vocals on this)
The last shadow puppets - Miracle Aligner (Crooner rock with a subtle infectious chorus)
Vinyl Williams - Riddles of the sphinx (Sounds like a fresh painting with a bucket of water thrown over it)
Exmagician - bend with the wind (I heard this alot on TXFM (rip) kind of a late 90's flaming lips feel to it)

    Your top 5 gigs

    Didn't go to any...
