Did you go back right away.

I would suggest getting a mechanic to diagnose fault and have it in writing then go in and show to dealer if you get nowhere then you go to small claims or get a solicitor.

Claim for repair cost against dealer if they won't help.

    Hi McCabe96

Have you even past your driving test yet?

As according to your past posts you you just passed your theory test 7 months ago and have yet to complete your 12 driving lessons.

You also had a Fiesta 2 months ago in which you were blaming the mechanics for ruining your clutch in it after they changed the engine in it or something as it was "pissing oil" and you've wasted all your money on it.

Now, you've been able to get finance on a 2013 Focus valued at 13k at the age of 19 with an income of 1300e a month. But now, you say the clutch has gone in that too and you only got a 28 day warranty on it. And the puncture repair guy just casually did a diagnostics on your car free of charge seemingly.

Is the above correct because if it is it's quite a strage series of events.

You clearly didn't read my posts correct , as he didn't change the engine cause it was pissing oil :) so don't be a smart ass if you don't even got the correct information. Also not 19, also not €1300 a month, also yes a local mechanic did a diagnostic check for free, I don't see your point? Also not valued at €13,000, valued €14,200 according to history check :)

Yes have been back numerous times, he even kept the car for 2 days and told me it was ready to go. But when I got it back I had same issue. Apparently he can't hear a noise but he's clearly just saying that as it's very easy to hear. Doesn't want to fix as he knows he's going to have to replace the whole clutch, flywheel etc which will cost him easily around 900+ euro

A garage won't be lumped with it costing that high.

As I suggested get written confirmation it is on way out and go in with that give them the option to fix and if they won't then get it fixed and get onto small claims and recover cost of fixing.

Whatever you do use a good Indy mechanic.

Problem solved? I've brought it back twice already to be told he can't hear nothing when there is a noise there: so plz explain how that's problem solved?

    Well there is a result.

It's not though cause he's kept the car for 2 days before and everything to be told there's no noise from clutch when there is so it's going to be the same crap again from him

You were posting earlier that he wouldnt deal with you now hes taking the car back to look at.

You seem to have fierce problems with mechanics altogether

I never said he wouldn't deal with me, he was just avoiding to admit there's a problem with the clutch as hell have to spend money on fixing it which he doesn't want to.

Well see what happens on the third.

If nothing gets sorted take it to another mechanic and get a report from them as to what is wrong and see a solicitor if there is something wrong

The OP hasn't past his driving test yet and is burning out the cluthes in his car(s) both Focus and Fiesta doing his driving lessons and he's blaming the mechanic(s).

In 2 days he burned out a clutch or release bearing?? You seem to have a problem with the OP for reasons that aren't apparent to me. He had the car 2 days and wasn't happy with it. Passengers in the car also noticed this noise along with a tyre fitter. Whether he's a learner driver or not is totally irrelevant, it looks to me like Mr nice guy car dealer thought he had a sucker in his sights and sold him a pup thinking he was deaf. OP, stick to your guns and seek legal advice if needed if you don't get satisfaction on the 3rd.

@JCA, one can burn out a clutch in a few minutes or a couple of miles. It is possible. Also, you seem to have a problem with the car dealer, for reasons that aren't apparent to me. Your mental image of a car dealer is very Arthur Daily, eyeing up customers for a gombeen to sell a lemon onto. Perhaps you had previous dealings with same car dealer??

This has been such an interesting read. Good work OP, much better than your previous attempts.
I give you 6/10 but requires more believable back story.

Rental cars go through many a clutch like a garda vehicle.

I have come across many where they believe its an air freshener as when they actually take their foot off it doesn't smell bad anymore.

What do you mean more believable back story?! So I'm making this up?

Wouldn't a rental car have a good couple of hundred miles on it as it'll always be in use? there was only 58K when I got the car. 61,190 now

do you have any evidence to confirm that mileage is genuine?

No I had a vectra years ago was let off with 34k on it.

If not then you really have the worst luck. Do you still have the fiesta??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 177 ✭✭TanFlash

I've seen a few examples of brand new rentals come out of the airport with some yank heading down the M50 in first gear burning the clutch out, might only be 20 or 30 Kms on clock.

I'm sorry but why would I come on here and make up a story about a dealer not fixing a car? What would I get out of making this up? And no I traded the fiesta in.

Rental or not, I'm sure he knew all about the clutch going. Going to bring it to him on the 3rd and if I get no result from him again don't know where I'll go from there..

Just pieces of paper of when stuff was done on the car and the mileage from dealers in the UK, nothing else

I don't know who he bought the car from so don't start making assumptions. I just think the OP was treated disgracefully by the dealer who wouldn't be as quick to offload a lemon on someone more experienced.

We have told you what you need to do if it comes to it.

    Hopefully he will sort it.

I've been in many a dealers and a lot wouldn't have even started the car never mind drive it.

Quite possible bought at auction shipped over never driven or only moved in yard.

Hard to know really but go with next visit and if not fixed go legal or as I said small claims but I do suggest get a written assessment done before dropping it in so they really need to sort it.

Other than a burning clutch because I smell bull****!

Here is your post from 2 months ago stating that your Fiesta is "pissing oil" and also that you're "living from pay cheque to pay cheque" and how Ford mechanic man broke your Fiesta or something.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=101405931

Here is your post from 7 months ago where you say you're 19 and just starting to drive.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057602494

Here is a post from 7 months ago where you detail applying for a loan and your income of 340 euro a week and again that you are 19.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057600724

Can you explain the above with feasible reasoning?

Otherwise, I suggest you grow up and stop hounding boards.ie with made up scenarios.
