Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Januzaj throws a wobbler every time he falls over.

Can is so far off the pace it's a bit scary - I'd prefer Lucas or Stewart

    Horrible Bournemouth feeling..

any team in the league will turn into world beaters if you give them the momentum , which we just did

For every decent game Can plays there seems to be too many shockers to accompany it.

Need to get hold of the ball for a while......no need to be forcing it....

    Missing Henderson badly

This is terrible, Milner you're the captain don't be so childish.

Liverpool looking leggy now unsurprisingly. Can playing like he's wearing concrete boots.

Milner is slow as well, maybe Moreno would be a wiser pick (can't believe I said that)

This has one of those bad away day game feels about it. We're lacking a lot of composure here.

This is the worse I've ever seen Can play. He's been horrific.

Sunderland players totally bulling the Liverpool players

Can is ****ing jogging - get him off.

Christ, Can looks like he won a competition to be out on the pitch today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

We kinda fall down in this situation......need a few players to get hold of possession but we just try and bomb it forward.

Can needs to be hooked :( losing the ball too much

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Can loses it in the middle yet again.

At least 1 more goal in this for Sunderland

If Sunderland played like this every week they'd be mid table.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,346 ✭✭✭Quandary

I can see Liverpool coming back to win this game. Sunderland are very poor and Liverpool have too much quality, are high on confidence and of course the Klopp effect.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

    Better

Klavan always heads it back into the middle rather than out wide, ends up giving it away a lot with his clearances.

Lovren has actually been good despite the madness around him

we're not moving it quick enough around their box.. they are getting time drop deep

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

Can't be bailing players out any time they're having **** games. Others have started games poorly and felt their way in so he'll have to just get his **** together.

Don't fancy him as the deep midfielder though. Doesn't have his head screwed on.
It'd give you an appreciation for the steady Eddyness of the likes of Hendo.

Europa League final last year......if Moreno hadn't done what he did more focus would have been on Can.

Lucas for Can.......he cant play as the deep CM.....all over the shop.

    Sturridge looks really sharp.

You can actually see his confusion as to where he should be. Doesn't look at all comfortable.

Can's positioning and body shape to the play in front of him is often quite wrong.

Sturridge and Defoe could both have hat-tricks already with a bit more accuracy.

    Good lad John. :)

The last 10 minutes have been better with more control. Hopefully we can right things for the second half.

Do people really expected Can to be subbed in the first half?
How they can decide this with his limited on screen time is beyond me.

I also don't see these "leggy" performances that experts here talk about when a team don't go 3 nil up after 20 minutes.

Not helped by Sturridge taking an age to make up his mind to shoot, even though everyone knows that will happen anyway.

Sunderland can't keep up that pace. Feels like we're conserving some energy. Pretty much standard these days. Confident still.

Enjoyable half from a 'neutral' pov.

    Huh?

    He's playing shee-ite.

    What's it matter why?

Around the 55 min mark I'd say. If he cant sort himself out after the break he needs to be hooked.

Its not hard to see he's all over the place is it?

Can is no Henderson. I'm not expecting him to be an exact replacement for Hendo, but I expect more awareness from him. He doesn't live in the moment, switches off as soon as he passes it. When in possession he likes to start a little run which ends up with him losing the ball. Even for the Sunderland goal he took himself out of the game from the throw-in and offered no defensive cover in that situation. Firmino has done feck all too, seems to lose the ball consistently now. Lucas on for Can and Origi for Firmino.

Sturridge has been our best player, when he's dropping deep he's trying to move it forward quickly, and he's the only one testing Mannone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

Sturridge takes the shot on too often, but has been playing well. Can normally grows into a game so hopefully he sorts himself out. We are doing ok, just need to use the ball better.

Maybe but nearly every shot has been on target & he hit the post too.
