Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

West Ham v Manchester United: Team news

West Ham will check on Mark Noble after the midfielder came off against Leicester on Saturday.

The skipper was forced off after a strong tackle from Daniel Amartey and boss Slaven Bilic admitted he is likely to be a doubt for the visit of Manchester United.

Sam Byram started training last week after an ankle problem, but was not in the squad for the 1-0 defeat at Leicester, while Gokhan Tore (knee), Reece Oxford (ankle) and Simone Zaza (knee) are unavailable.

Manchester United will be without Eric Bailly as he heads to the African Nations Cup.

United asked the Ivory Coast to allow the defender to join them 24 hours late but their appeal fell on deaf ears.

Michael Carrick has a chance of returning in midfield after missing the win over Middlesbrough with illness but Wayne Rooney is unlikely to be back from thigh trouble.

    Teams:

West Ham (from): Randolph, Adrian, Collins, Ogbonna, Reid, Kouyate, Masuaku, Antonio, Cresswell, Noble, Obiang, Quina, Fernandes, Nordtveit, Payet, Feghouli, Ayew, Carroll, Fletcher.

Manchester United (from): De Gea, Romero, Valencia, Fosu-Mensah, Jones, Smalling, Rojo, Darmian, Shaw, Blind, Young, Fellaini, Carrick, Herrera, Schweinsteiger, Pogba, Lingard, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Martial, Rashford, Ibrahimovic.

    Stats:

West Ham are unbeaten in their last four Premier League meetings with Manchester United (W1 D3) - they've never gone five games unbeaten them in their English league history.
Manchester United lost away at West Ham last season, in the last ever game at the Boleyn Ground - they've not lost consecutive away games against West Ham since December 2007.
Slaven Bilic could become only the second manager to remain unbeaten in his first four Premier League encounters with the Red Devils (Ruud Gullit the other).
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored three goals in Manchester United's two previous encounters with West Ham this season (One in Premier League, Two in EFL Cup).
Anthony Martial has scored five goals in his last four appearances against West Ham in all competitions.

    Hope Carrick makes it.

Mou had a decent game against Boro but I feel we missed Carrick badly.

Would like to see a return of Jones and Rojo in the center

West Ham blow so hot and cold. It wouldn't surprise me to see them get a result. It also wouldn't shock me to see Utd beat them easily as they are hitting good form.

Yera tbh they were unlucky against the champions they deserved more from that game. Hopefully they blow cold and we romp home with a straight forward victory

The last game I watched them play was against Hull and they were awful, Hull hit the post 3 times and should have won very very comfortably, a dodgy penalty gifted them a 1-0 win. Martial could cause them all sorts of problems today so I hope he or Rashford starts for a bit of pace in the side.

I hope we score more goals than them and as a result get the three points on offer.

I anticipate a routine win for Utd. They're on a nice run, confidence is flowing, I think they'll enjoy the wide open spaces compared to the more compact hostile Upton/Boleyn they used to play at.

Strongest team bar Lingard but has been doing well since the City game when given chances by Jose.
He's rotating the squad well and giving plenty of chances to the youth.

Martial will feature if the game isn't going our way.

Stop whinging, no regular SF posters would ever refer to WHU as "United"

No one calls your team United really. The hammers is what you even call yourself. We always just refer to united as united. It's not something intended to cause offense.

Must win game now after the Liverpool result.

Niall Quinn going all out with his 'United are a ship' analogy there. Good man Niall, you might go down with a ship someday :)

Yes, people do call us "United". And we generally call ourselves Irons, not Hammers.

Ok so if you generally call yourself irons then you can understand people not referring to you as united in here.

It's a bit of a small thing to be getting annoyed about.

Anyway, good start for the irons so far. ;)

Does it matter in any way whatsoever?

Anyway, WHU having the better of it so far.

Midfield seems to be very crowded.
