Hey guys, I'm looking for some advise. I bought a set of FSA Vision TriMax 30 Wheelset Clincher wheels off Bike24 in April 2016. They went great all summer but in August I noticed a knocking noise from the back wheel so I brought it to the local bike store to get tightenend, which they did and everything was fine again. Exactly a week later the front wheel did the same thing so I brought it in to get tightened and it's been grand since. Then a month later in September the back wheel started acting up again so I brought it to cycleways in dublin city centre. They stripped the wheel down and put it back together and everything was grand again, however I said this had happened before to which they replied if that's the case then it's a faulty wheel.

Anyway I took the good bike out for a spin on NYE and the back wheel is now loose again, I presume it's too late to send these back so going by my issue is there anyway of diagnosing the problem, is there a wheel specialist in Dublin that could look at these? I've had two different stores look at them but they are just saying they are faulty.

    Here's the wheels:

Some reviews I've found online which might help diagnose the problem.
Pros:light, attractive, reasonably priced, strong, great for climbing
Cons:let me down twice, weak point - rear hub (?)
    Interests:Road - Fitness/Recreation, Road - Sportive/Challenge events, Road - Touring
20 miles and 11.6 miles into a 50 mile and 20 mile ride respectively, both sets of wheels started to make a cronically awful noise. The noise seemed to be magnified by the spokes, coming from the rear hub. I realise some wheels do make unusual noises, but this sounded like a child's 'spokey dokey'. I stopped to check all of my clearances, noting the shimano ultegra groupset was brand-new. It's a shame really, because the grey tri-max wheels are drop dead gorgeous wheels. Even with Continental GP4000 tyres and continental inner tubes fitted, the wheels were really really light, and that's why I had purchased these sure-footed altitude munchers. I initially anticipated a loose spoke but all the spokes were set between 7 and 9 newton's and the wheel was true. The second time, I fitted the cassette and took a quick ride up and down the road. Initially the wheels were silent, but again, the dreaded noise came back. Even after I went really easy on the wheels, so as not to stress the spokes, it was tortuous to ride. A terrible shame really and I was desperately disappointed with my first experience with vision wheels. I am certain this must be a dodgy batch of vision rear hubs....
I received two sets of this wheelset. Both flexed and one made a terrible pinging noise from back wheel. I paid to check tensions of spokes however they were all true. Must be serious quality issues

They should be under warranty if less than a year old, you'd think. However, that may be voided by the intervention of mechanics which is say nothing about

Ok cheers, I'll contact bike24 if that is the case. Do you reckon they could be fixed though? If I bought a new or upgraded rear hub would that work?

i have twice fixed noises from wheels by simply oiling the nipples - varied from a plinking noise, to a ratchey groan; just seemed to be the nipples moving a little as the wheel flexed.
i found that taking weight off the wheel, or by leaning the bike to one side or the other, made the noise come and go - may be worth trying?

Yeah that is when it's at it's loudest. Usually climbing when out of the saddle. I do think something is loose or not fitted correctly in teh hub somewhere though as its gradually getting looser as teh wheel is not just flexing but moving from left to right sideways
