Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Today, I wanted to up my stock on my Black Neon Tetras, also in the looking for something to clean up algae in the tank where I can't reach. Now I am not blaming the guy who sold me them, but I did mention it was a community tank with Barbs, Neons, Zebras. The guy said it would be fine, there was me more concerned for this fish, than my other inhabitants. Anyway, the name was described as a Sucking Loach, so alarm bells where not ringing for me just yet.

It is only now after Googling this did I find out it's other name one which I would have known to immediately avoid, the Chinese Algae Eater, who are seriously not a community tank mate at all. I feel stupid, I should have Google it there and then to get more information.

Now I don't know what to do with it? Do I just bring it back, it's not causing any harm just yet and cleaning quite well, but I don't want to run the risk of it killing any of my other stock and apparently it can get quite large.

    wHAT WILL i DO NOW?

    It might be fine.

I've kept them in the past with no real issues.

In my experience once they're mature they can get aggressive but it's not a certainty.

If you're worried, just bring it back to the shop and get a few snails instead.

    *edit, 1000th post, woop!*
