Lakeside begins this Saturday. Coverage is being shared by Channel 4 and BT Sports.

The favourite this year is BDO No. 1 Glen Durrant who is fresh off BDO/WDF Major wins in the Winmau World Masters and the Finder Masters (formally Zuiderduin Masters) which were both played last month.

Scott Waites, Scott Mitchell, Jamie Hughes and Danny Noppert also in with a shout. Last years beaten finalist Jeff Smith starts his campaign in the preliminary round on Saturday afternoon.

I'm looking forward to this, always find Lakeside exciting.

i see the pro bdo boys on facebook sayin for the first time in years the treble beds of the bdo board are now the same as the pdc version

be interesting to see if averages reflect this or is it just another excuse

The 1's and 5's must be bigger on the BDO boards as well then! :)

My money is on Jamie Hughes this year, playing decent of late.

The Women's championship will be interesting also.

I'm hoping Deta Hedman can finally win it. She's won over 100 Ranking titles in her career but never the World.

Looking forward to it as well.

Always so unpredictable, literally anyone can beat anyone.

The original and still the best.

Looking forward to the very best of order being observed at the home of darts.

Durrant looked good in the Grand Slam, hope he wins it.

This has turned up some "unusual" winners in the past alright

Don't think there's been any Irish representation for a few years.

Michael Meaney qualified in 2014 but lost to Ross Montgomery in the first round.

Wexford's Jason Cullen won a first round game in 2013 but lost his next match.

Daryl Gurney, who went through a few rounds in the PDC this year, was also involved at the Lakeside about 5 or 6 years ago.

It was Jordan Boyce. Lost the youths final to Josh Richardson. He will play on the PDC development tour this year.

Got to the last 32 in the qualifying tournament.

In general not a great year for him judging by these results. Less than 6k in prize money.

My heart is broken that The Count didn't make it.

We still have Wolfie Adams in fairness.

3 time official World Professional Darts Champion. All three titles recognised by the World Darts Federation.

    3 Time World Masters Champion.

1 time 1999 PDC Scania Open Champion. (Beat the Power in the final)

What a man, probably one of the greatest individuals ever to throw a dart at a board.

    Martin 'Awoooooo' Wolfie Adams.

he only won them when bdo had got weak
sadly that will always be thrown at him
pity he didnt enter grand slam more to show how he would get on
think 2nd round last year was as far as people expected
not expecting much from him this year with the sickness

always liked fitton or be nice to see oshea go well but doubt it
    durrant be worthy winner

I see the beds are now more generous on the board. Typical

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,500 ✭✭✭✭DEFTLEFTHAND

Can't beat the bould Winmau boards. The regulation board.

Unicorns cut up with the first darts thrown into them. Pieces of crap.

Is Tony Green retired now, or has he moved over?

They should move the tournament to before the PDC , it's a tough watch after the pdc championship
