Whats the flag and flowers for?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I think posters are complimenting his appearance... square jaw is manly.

I know this is very sensitive topic for this guy but this is like a crazy Eurovision song for a Eastern European country.

Fair enough, I actually agree. The internet is a wild spot however, you’ll be a long time policing it.

It's a Shelbourne FC banner I think. Something to do with a friend of his who owned the flag and who committed suicide I think.

    Irish rap should be cancelled..

    It's cultural appropriation like..

Down with that sort of thing..

Pretty much. Obviously not going to be lapped up by the majority but he's really good at what he does.

Oh right were the flowers meant to remember his friend too?

Was never a major fan of Mike Skinner but this lad wouldn't lace his shoes.

Are there any happy, joyful people left in the world who could be interviewed during this less than joyful time..

After a cheerful interview which seems to have mental health issues and suicide as it's main theme we have stabbing, vomit, blood in this uplifting ditty, I feel like stabbing myself at this stage.

The amount of Lynx ads on recently is astonishing. Surely the lads of ireland are never more stocked up on lynx than they are in the months after Christmas. And also just hanging around the house these days too!

  • Registered Users Posts: 691 ✭✭✭jmlad2020

    Silly comments about his looks.

I'm from rural Ireland. That edgy street music doesn't agree with me. It was a bit too intense for my liking.. The music and interview.

Seems like a nice lad. I would like to see where he gets to in a few years with his music.

I don't think it's anything personal against the guests.

A lot of us are tired of depression, sad stories, songs wallowing in depression. The total predominance of doom versus joviality, fun, laughter, light entertainment.

Tommy isn't bad at all but I'd still prefer Tubs.

Yeah, so the best way to feel better about yourself to to belittle someone else s looks.

You won’t be tired of depression when it knocks on your door.

As it inevitably does for everyone. There’s.not one door in Ireland that it’s not visited in one form or other.

    Costs nothing to be civil.

Have a laugh by all means, not at someone s downfall.

We are beginning to conflate n depth discussion with people opening up about their (normal) existential fear of mortality. I listened to the kid and I actually felt he was someone trying to process life and death on a philosophical level and doing a good job at it, but depth doesn't have to be miserable. I don't find talking about such stuff informative or interesting. Especially not at a time when people don't need a 9.30PM TV slot to be confronted with these issues. They are with us everyday as we live in a world where consuming the media, especially Anglo media, has us confronting these issues everyday.

I respect Tommy, I like the format of the show and what he is intending to create but I'd suggest that given the times we are in, this 'misery porn', as some refer to it as, does a disservice to the issues and even the guests. At times, despite Tommy's empathy and compassion, it does come across voyeuristic.

It's knocked on my door more than most. Trust me.

But it's all about balance. Our light entertainment has become totally skewed in favour of morbid dissection of people's troubles. Yes it shouldn't be hidden, but our entertainment has gone too far the other way.

P.s. I never belittled anyone's looks. I wouldn't mind being compared to Ivan Drago.
