I think Tommy has lost control of the show here , those two are having a confab between themselves

One with the glasses is gas

I’m the same. Don’t like that slow dirge arranged version of it

Agree - if it wasn’t such an iconic song, it wouldn’t get an airing.
First listen is wtf, potentially interesting but with every listen it turns an uplifting joyous singe into a whingy dirge

How much does Fred Cook get paid for opening and closing a curtain?

Sure he's a nice guy, but I can't take to him. He's no Ed McMahon.

Refreshing to hear it not recited in a thick Dublin accent.

Good point. Usually in a strong inner city barely understandable drawl

If you look hard enough you can see Tommy counting down the minutes in his head

Lots of forced banter and fake hysterical laughs

I'm finding them an utter head wreck. Really irritating. It's clear he's so not interested in them and thinks same.

Worked with Tolu for 18 months and I can confirm this is how she was all day everyday. Lovely girl but by God too bubbly for 7:30am on a Monday morning and hanging ro bits.

I think RTE and Virgin Media have good coverage these days but it's not unmissable, the Giles, Dunphy, Brady dynamic was unique and unrivalled for pure entertainment, can't ever see being that good again.

You'll never get anything as scandalously entertaining as the time Dunphy set out to destroy Terry Venables when it looked like he might get the Ireland job - and threw in a few borderline libellous remarks about Rod Liddle. Totally out of order, top class entertainment.

Funniest part was Tommy telling to leave some silence for the edit

They were lovely girls but could have been a lot more composed, I feel like he didn't get a whole lot out of them because he was a bit put off by how lively they were

If you’ve listened to his podcast (which is great!) you’ll know that some of the interviews go on for an hour and more and the producers take their pick then.

He said himself that he doesn’t get involved in what they pick to air, he does his bit and they do theirs.

Anyway, I just fear he was left longer than 20 mins with them. Never so glad I paused the show for a few mins early on, would sooner watch the ads then watch them.
