Was Tommy in Fr.Ted, any episode?

Ardal comes across as very natural and relaxed.

Yes, the depressed priest on a bus journey... that’s all I remember.. I’m sure someone here has a clip :)

    Yep.

    That'd be the dryness.

Fair Play to have home movies in the 70s as a child growing up!

I thought the Kennedys were the only ones pre 70s with home movies!

    Yep.

Morgan died the day after filming

    I blame radiohead.

I NEVER knew that... was it the planned last episode anyway or did they end it when Dermot passed away?

Was after the party they had after filming the last episode. It was due to end.

I like the idea that Ardal was partially protected from breaking character by the fact that Dougal supressing a laugh could indeed just be interpreted as "gormless grinning" :D

Dermot Morgan was only 45 when he died, so young.

He's much more interesting than I thought. I never really listened to an interview with him before.

Ardal has never big but he’s lost weight lately

    Excellent.

Tommy Tiernan is a great interviewer. He doesn’t say a lot, just asks his question and lets the person answer in full, uninterrupted.

I'd say that Tommy's self awareness (how he had the seeds sown for stand up) is what enables him to get to people's stories so well.

That was interesting. A far more intellectual guy that I would have thought (my bias for always associating him with Dougal!).

Really enjoyed that chat with Ardal. Seems a nice down to earth chap. His privileged upbringing doesn't come across at all.

Tommy looks freaked out by the whole topic

Dr. Peter Fenwick is amazing to listen to on conciousness and death. An elderly scholar.
