    (I presume a neurosurgeon?)

    That's right, Ciarain Bolger.

Dermot Morgan was only 45 when he died, so young.

That’s just hit home...the age I’m turning in 5 weeks...it’s shocking how young he was...I guess growing up watching Fr Ted and scrap Saturday he always appeared much older to the younger me.

An unusual choice for a guest but very interesting.

To be honest, I’ve rarely been really disappointed by any of the guests. Even if they’ve been perceived by me to think they’ll be boring, Tommy seems to always get a bit of good out of every guest :)

Dermot Morgan would have been 69 by now.

Time passes at a horrific rate

A neurosurgeon is definitely a person I wouldn't put in the boring category. I have so many questions for this man. I'm surprised because he isn't typical you know, but that's good.

You have to be a very unique type of person to be in a career like that.

I think sociopaths/psychopaths are a higher percentage in such jobs. They don't get emotionally involved, are detached.

Not saying about Ciaran, but the stats in general.

Brilliant guest. My daughter had surgery on her skull when she was a baby, not by this guy but one of his colleagues.

    Amazing work.

I’m sure all HCW’s must be able to rationalise death

    They will struggle otherwise

Ah you get that ould codswallop about all high achievers/ management etc. Being honest, a doctor has to be able to detach, or they’d need to live on anti depressants. I think he’s a really interesting guest, obviously gifted at his chosen field and seems so normal and down to earth.

This is a top drawer interview with the brain surgeon, it is so refreshing to hear someone interesting interviewed rather than Tubridys endless cycle of death and dying

I probably shouldn’t have say boring, sorry. I just guess I was thinking of Tubridy interviewing one ..

    Ms

MI can't believe Tommy Tiernan has not seen one of the many shows that have shown doctors operating on people. I have. It's not for the faint of heart do. An Xbox lol I think he is a few decades out. Still amazing conversation do.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

    What an amazing man.

Young people nowadays looking up to "influencers" or wanting to be famous.

Forget it. Aim to be like this man.

Even farming Fintan. People from towns and cities think we'd be so cold on deaths of livestock. But just you'd be so used to it.

It's insane his qualifications - anyone else feeling less than adequate? :D

So Ciaran, how good does it feel to be Irish.

I haven't watched Tommy's show before but read the great reviews. I have to be honest, I'm a bit underwhelmed by his interviewing style. He strikes me as a bit contrived, just asking childish, gormless questions. I don't exactly find it rivetting. If tonight's show is the norm I think it's over-rated.
