Ruby was right, he was being judgmental, proud in his ignorance of things that she was clearly interested in, loves to be just the folksy old salt of the earth man, too cool to care.

I see both their points of view. Two of them in it.

But yeah what's not to be interested in the workings of the human brain. You can run through the field and switch off too. Combine both.

Ruby was more interested in talking than having a conversation, she really rambled on. Although Tiernan made some poorly judged remarks.

That Martin Hayes interview was brilliant.

What a refreshing take on life. Darcy and Tubs wouldn't be able to interview him. Too caught up in what they perceive to be life's major issues 'politics', 'running and keep fit', 'social issues'. Martin Hayes' life take is so different.

I wouldn't say she was the first "artist" who spend time in isolation in the Utah wilderness and emerged with notions and unrealistic goals in life :D

All she got was the $410 wash and blowdry.

Always an enjoyable show. One of the few triumphs of RTE.
Wouldn't it be great if it were shoehorned into Saturday night instead of that insipid Ray D'Arcy

Best of luck to her getting to Space but I remember watching a show on BBC a while back where Chris Hadfield was putting potential candidates through a field of tests and it really is a case of the best of the best to even be considered.

Great show tonight. He rarely gets this wrong and the format suits him and his natural curiosity. Plus invariably the people on are interesting, even if they're relative ordinary.

Hadn't really watched this before but I found the Ruby Wax segment painful so had to leave the room. But, I'm sorry I missed Martin Hayes. I'd guess he would be on the same wavelength as Tiernan. So, will have to give it another chance on the player.

Watched the Ruby Wax interview just now on the Player. She was rambling on and on trying to plug her book, I couldn't follow what she was on about at all. She was trying to make out that you have to be intelligent and interested in the topic. Just sounds like a lot of vacuous bull**** to me.

it is a strange way to present yourself to the world but its understandable why he does it though
    He's very overexposed recently.

maybe, but i do think he has important things to say, hes very well informed about social issues

A great rugby referee. A person with a difficult background. Talking to a muffin like Tommy Tiernan. Tiernan is pure vomit. I cannot understand how anybody with any self-respect would go near the depths that represent this non-comedian twat

Both of them love the sound of their own voice. Best thing that happened to Owens was the ref mic.
