I used to like Scanlon but this new accent isn't doing her any favours,

Yeah, I thought I liked her up until about 5 minutes ago.. couldn't be listening to her..

She's really trying to make an 'in' to the Irish broadcasting sector (ie RTE) and become a golden girl like Jenifer Poisonelli. She's going overkill IMO.

On the +1 but was in reverend silence for Michael O'Mhuirceartaigh. That man is a national treasure and a pure gentleman. A credit to old age as well.

I was at a tribute night for Wexford's best ever footballer Matty Forde in January and Michael drove down by himself. Got a standing ovation, had a razor sharp memory of all his stories and adapted an old poem, Down by the Glenside, to mark the occasion thus (I'll never forget it):

I passed on my way, God be praised that I met her
Be life long or short, sure I'll never forget her
We may have brave men, but we'll never have better
Glory O, Glory O, to the bold Matty Forde.

The devil drove home by himself well after 1AM afterwards. Pure legend.

Jason Byrne, I'd rather be on the roof of Chernobyl 30 seconds after it exploded shovelling stuff for 24 hours.

    Absolute classic.

He is talented actor but a tough life and he seems troubled

Ah Christ, this interview is a bit of a car crash. I can see RTÉ getting a (very valid) complaint from TENI.

I'd say changing from being a United supporter to supporting Liverpool would be a bigger lifestyle change.

I see the opposite, he seems to me to be content with his lot in life. A little nervous when he came out first but then settled into the interview.

Darren Sutherland's parents were very unhappy with how Frank Maloney treated him.

Dunno about you but usually I don’t ask people how they achieve an orgasm

In fairness, I will admit that's one thing I always thought about when it comes to transexuals :D

If you are interviewing someone who has claimed that their penis has been turned into a vagina, it is a very valid question.

He was in Dublin Oldschool, decent flick, sort of an Irish Trainspotting.

Oh I have too, it’s fascinating stuff medically, but asking *that* level of detail on television is a bit...askew.

This guy clams to be an actor and poet but can't just simply recite a piece he wrote.

Surely he knew he'd be asked when coming on a chat show.

Personally i like this, its not like the D'arcy and Tubridy type interviews where they laugh at every answer, it feels real
