I have an AliExpress delivery marked as arrived in Ireland on the 22/4 but still no sign of it. Order was placed 14/3.

Order placed with Gearbest 16th April, no sign of it shipping.:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,239 ✭✭✭irishchris

Seven orders from China all left end march/start April and no sign of any of them arriving, last scan was supposedly leaving China.
The only order that made it here was a gearbest one and noticed it had a dispatched from UK sticker on it even though tracking clearly showed it left China and traveled here and not from UK

I made an order on a deal website that said shipped from the UK. It took two weeks to arrive and then it had an address from Asia. What's up with that?

I ordered a watch from Banggood's on 14th April, from their China warehouse with EU priority delivery. The estimated delivery date from Banggood was 20th May.

Shipping info was never updated on their website as it normally has been in my experience but it arrived today delivered by An Post via the Netherlands.

lots of my AliExpress gear had months added onto the already generous deadlines. How long can they keep extending it ?

Yeah, just had a notification that one of my orders is now being pushed out to July. Was ordered on the 10th March.
That's me finished with ordering anything again from China until the world comes back to normal. (2021 at the earliest).
I recently asked a seller for a quote on bike wheels and they said they could now only deliver via DHL at a cost of €180....

Waiting for lots . 2 packages bought in February not arrived yet . Ali said they are in local PO.
Can't locate them . Orders are down as completed on Ali. Very small value though.

I've had to request refunds for one or two things, a couple more from Jan are on extended purchase protection. The tracking all suggests its left China (as far as that can be trusted!) Nothing too big, but some stuff at the €20 mark.

what will you do if your package arrives and you've got your refund?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,749 ✭✭✭Irish Gunner

Asked for refund and suddenly movement on the tracking dated 7th May

    Parcel in clearance
    Customs clearance processing complete

    Strange

mmmm I have 6 orders on the way from Ali since Feb/March and one "Arrived in destination country; awaiting customs clearance" since 26/04. Ali finished the order and the seller said "the parcel has been arrived on your country , please contact post office to get your parcel asap".

No An Post tracking number anywhere and I doubt they'd know what to do with the Chinese tracking number.

you should have asked them to extend purchase protection. Even if ali finished the order you can still open a dispute and say you didnt receive it.

You've another 10-14 days until AP process it I'd guess.

for aliexpress items I'd say that it's a combination of slowdown of shipping from China (little / no passenger plane freight available in general and not just from China) and An Post having high volumes so slowing it down even more their usual 1 month post-arrival in Ireland target.

would not order anything from there right now (or most Chinese websites) unless you don't need it for 3/4 months and/or are willing to pay for minimum e-packet / priority line postage option (and even then expect 2 months at a guess)

Ordered an item on Ebay on March 30 and it was delivered this morning. A guy in An Post told me by email several weeks ago that "post to and from China is suspended". Based on comments here that appears to be nonsense. I was also talking to the local postman this morning and he said that packets in particular were coming in ton loads

I think he is almost right, it's not from China, it's from Hong Kong and only air mail, land mail is still being delivered. Ironically, the slowest form.

A lot of Aliexpress stuff you'll see on the tracking it leaves china and gtes stuck in HK.

(It won't lt me post a link as I'm new but if you go to hongkongpost dot hk then follow the obvious links you'll find it)

For those that don't want to click it says for ireland:

Ireland All surface mail postal services All airmail postal services (including Speedpost service)

with all surface mail postal servicse still going ahead, and the other column all airmal services not being shipped atm.

Hope this helps. all decent sellers will extend the buyer cover on aliexpress with most doing it automatically.

The larger packages I have coming from Aliexpress just disappear after they arrive in the country now. I no longer get the notification that it has arrived at your local post office. I've gotten 3 refunds in about a week. I wonder how long I can keep that up.

there must be massive piles of stuff in some An Post warehouses / sorting centres.

definitely has gotten noticeably worse since early March

Glad i came across this thread. I am about to buy something from aliexpress but im guessing be waiting around 3 months by the looks of things on here? Buyer has it on his page 17-25 days which is a joke.
I could wait 5 or 6 weeks but not waiting 3 months as its for the kids bedroom which im hoping to have completed well by then

Not really, I buy on Aliexpress sometimes, and you need carefully check the seller's rating and reviews of other people. In this case, you can buy a really good quality things. I read that the AliExpress began to monitor the quality of products, so hope there will be some changes. Also, do not chase cheapness, I think it is so clear.

Received a delivery from Aliexpress today. It was ordered end of Feb/beginning of March. But I had opened a dispute last week and had the money refunded. It was only a cheapo phone case. And with the current situation, I ordered two more from different sites. So if anyone wants a case for a Samsung A70 in a few months let me know :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,239 ✭✭✭irishchris

The first of my orders from China finally arrived! Ordered in 27 march and exactly two months arrived today on 27 may. Strangely opened dispute yesterday with as AliExpress and last night the order appeared in Ireland with first tracking in nearly two months.

I have a couple of different items ordered. According to the tracking info one of them arrived here in Ireland on 14th May. Havent received delivery so I just banged off a query to An Post to see what they have to say.

I was in touch with An Post about another delayed order a few weeks ago and the guy I was emailing told me that mail to and from China had been suspended which is rubbish according to other posts here. I did receive the item while I was still waiting on yer man to get back to me at the time. But the local postman told me a few days ago that he's delivering lots of parcels/packets etc every day so the hold up appears to be at some sorting office or other after the items arrive in this country.

I didn't order anything from china until end of April on the assumption it would take 6 month.

I have 11 in transit, two delivered in under 4 weeks.

Gearbest 7th May delivered 28th May
Aliexpress 28th April delivered 25th May

Ebay order made 24th March delivered today. So some of the stuff seems to be getting through.

What does the tracking look like for stuff that has arrived? I had one update in April to say that it was ‘Delivered to air transportation’...then nothing since. Will it be updated in advance of it arriving to the door by An Post?
