    Hi all,

Has anyone any information on HR opportunities worldwide? or does anyone know of people who work in HR in far-off flung places such as Dubai or Singapore?

I ask because I am finishing off a Masters in HRM and finishing up a grad placement in London. Having really enjoyed my time here, I am starting to think about saving for a house in Dublin.

I have heard that no tax is paid in the Gulf states and that the salary in European institutions is subject to less tax also (I think the European Central Bank has a good HRBP vacancy at the moment).

Any information or experiences on working abroad in HR would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys,

    AH

It depends on what type of HR you want to work in.

The gulf from the friends I know working over there tends to be generic work unless you have a very good knowledge of local employment law and contracts etc.
    And/or recruitment.

Do you specialise in any aspect of hr?

    Thanks for the response dream.

At the moment, not a specialist as such. I am however business partnering strategic directors and directorates in a relatively prestigious organisation (I got lucky!).

Do you know what sort of salary or lifestyle people have out there?

    Thanks again.

I did a three month international secondment in Doha a few years back. It depends on the org you work for, most American companies will supply accommodation, a driver (depending on your gender) and will help you out the first few weeks in terms of getting settled.

Salary depends on experience the notion that the gulf states pay way more than here is true but you have to be worth it, admin salaries etc are pretty much the same. However most gulf states are tax free and the cost of living is not mental compared to Australia etc.
Lifestyle is what you make of it, depending on which state you can drink if you are a non national or non Muslim, there's a few different ex pat websites that are more specific to country that you can check out.
