I'm looking at upgrading my setup as it doesn't support Dolby Digital Plus which is becoming an issue more and more so I'll be in the market for a receiver and 5.1 speaker setup with a budget of €800-1000. I'd like to have Atmos if possible and to support all modern HD audio formats and have at least 3 HDMI inputs. What do you recommend.

    Hi,

Thanks for your post. If  you sre looking for a good AV set up that will support Atmos and Dolby digital I would definitely recommend the Denon AVRX2300. It has been the best mid range amp I've heard for two years running now and sounds great with lots of networking features as well. In terms of speakers we do do a few bundle deals with this amp but it really depends if you are looking for small, satellite speakers or larger, more traditional bookshelf or floorstanders.

If you are looking for satellites you really can't go wrong with the Monitor Audio Mass:

Going beyond this you would start to break your budget but have a look at the Monitor Audio Bronze pack:

I can do this package with bookshelf speakers instead of floorstanders which would work out a bit cheaper but you can't get much better than a package like this.

Let me know what you think.

    Many thanks

    David
