Cracked iMac screen-beyond economic repair?

    The cleaner at work dropped an iMac screen when moving desks to hoover. Main damage is to the top right. Are they repairable and at what kind of cost? And where, dont mind if it is not by Apple themselves.

    What size/year/screen type ?

    Size - 21" or 27" - Retina or Non-Retina.

    Ultimately the age will decide whether it's economical to repair.

    You can get a 21.5" screen for a new style (Thin) iMac from about $200 + Shipping. It jumps to over 500 for the 27" screen !
    You then need to get someone to install them. It's easy enough though not for the ham-fisted mortal ;)

    Thanks Ken it is a newer retina though Im not sure of its size. I just spoke to a repair service who quoted 350ish so not the end of the world. Just hope now that the contract cleaning company have insurance for this as we dont want to put it on the cleaner who otherwise did a fantastic job. And hopefully he wont be dropping computer screens again :o
