Gerry gave the same forecast the BBC were showing for Ireland.

Aye, just caught Gerry on the last few seconds. Snow, snow, something called Sleet and more snow. :D

There is a polar low type feature expect to move down across the country from after lunchtime bring more organised bands of snow showers. Some nasty winds wrapped up in it also will lead to blizzard type conditions in places.

So by the sounds of it I'll get to work OK tomorrow and the fact I work until 2pm only, I'll probably make it home (35 min drive from West dublin) before the snow/sh*t hits the fan. I hope I'm correct. I love snow but hate driving in it.

Well guys not long to wait now....
From a Cork point of view don't get excited if it's raining in the morning as the colder uppers won't be over us until after about 10am
I expect an extra ordinary day for Corkonians with lying snow a certainty by the evening.
It should hang around until Saturday too (on higher ground)

Of course all the more special when we think of the bear from the east lying in wait next week

This is hilarious. The DAILY EXPRESS, yes, I'll say that again, the DAILY EXPRESS, accuses the BBC of overegging snow forecasts and making people panic.

I would gladly see their offices burn into the ground, and it would make little difference to me if their so called 'journalists' were trapped inside or not.

Driving home from work around 3 should be fun, I really mean it as I love challenging weather. Dashcam will be tested too.

6 degree at the moment here in castlebar with clear skies and nice full moon

Doesn't sound cold with a clear sky.
    Maybe it'll plummet fast
4fm were giving frost warnings for tonight.

A trough line perhaps, or even a polar low, certainly the 500hpa temp is conducive to one forming in such an unstable flow.

We might yet have a return to the glory days of arguing over who has the most snow :D

Still just expecting mainly hail here though tbh, don't ever recall a north westerly delivering lying snow right to the coast. Letterkenny and the east of the county should do well though
