God help you should read the thread.

Showers will be around all day, until late tomorrow night. Depends on where you are and the positioning of the showers.

I'm the last 3 days reading but it been so up and down

Will you tell him to move? I can't see if there is snow over my house.

    I'll ask him nicely. :)

Back in 2010, we woke up to snow literally up to our knees outside my house. Couldn't believe it. Although it was tough with frozen pipes, no running water and being stuck in the middle of the countryside for days on end, community really pulled together to help each other which is great to see.

Thanks for all knowledgeable posters. Will follow the weather forum from now on!

Well I never posted this to what happened in our house that night. I had the laptop sitting at the front of the fire. My wife was watching TV.

So every time there was a post saying BOOM I inadvertently said it. My wife says whats up has she was watching TV. I said there is another rattle of thunder.

She said: Well SHUT THE **** UP. I rolled around the floor with laughter with tears running out of my eyes. Wife thought I was gone mad. Sorry people of Dublin.

Seeing nothing myself but a half-assed polar maritime flow bringing a few sleet or wet snow showers. Nothing we haven't seen in every single winter on record! Still, it'll be nice to see some snow if it falls and even nicer to watch it turn into a polluted, browny yellow sludge as it melts away a few minutes later.

As for the outlook thereafter, the less said about that the better. frown.png

Am I the only one who doesn't mind if the snow doesn't lie for long? I just want that lovely hushed silence as it floats down from the sky. As much as I would love huge accumulations, the snowfall itself will do me!

2324 update from Met Eireann below, there will be a forecast on Radio 1 also at 2355. (from now on in its up to posters to post photos etc etc and as always include your location)

    Today
Cold tonight, with clear periods and scattered showers, especially in western and northern counties and showers turning increasingly to hail, sleet and snow in Ulster and Connacht overnight. A spell of rain and sleet will move in to parts of Munster later in the night, with some snow mainly on high ground. Minimum temperatures minus 1 to plus 2 Celsius. Fresh westerly winds, strong along north and northwest coasts will ease overnight with some frost and icy patches developing in places.

    Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Thursday, will be bitterly cold. Some rain or sleet (snow on higher ground) in southern areas at first, otherwise a bright day, with sunny spells and showers of hail, sleet and snow. The wintry showers will be heaviest and most frequent over Ulster, Connacht and west Munster at first, with accumulations expected, but will extend to remaining areas through the afternoon. Some thunderstorms are likely also. Afternoon temperatures of just 2 to 4 C. Feeling colder in strengthening northwesterly winds.

Have to be honest but that reads like a DOWNGRADE for anywhere other than Ulster and north Connaught. Time will tell! :)
