Looking north to all those goodies coming down in the NWly flow. There is going to be some real humdingers embedded in that very unstable flow.

This evening is going to be very interesting

is this event likely to effect flights from dublin airport on sunday night??

It's not likely to affect flights today at peak shower. Sunday is forecast to be 11 degrees.

Had a 10 minute snow shower here in Tuam, proper heavy flakes which have mostly turned to mush now that the skies have cleared again. It was dark as hell as well when snowing.

It is just very light snow now and a bit brighter before more comes.
Here is a short video I posted on my twitter page. The snow was really getting going in terms of sticking before it got lighter.

The rain has been inclined to be turning into sleet and falling snow. Nothing is falling now and no lying snow. Around 10K from Limerick city centre in the Tipperary direction at approximately 45M ASL.

Was up on high ground in South Donegal... sleety rain. The showers have no intensity. I have lived here for decades and we get this weather several times a year.. never results in snow. Talk about disheartening. Going to head home. I am waiting to be proven wrong and gladly will be if this snow comes later.

Conditions look good for it though. Been a very solid low cloud cover here in D16 all morning, but very bright. Very humid; you can see the water swirling around in the air like a fine mist, but it's not making anything wet.

Prob wet snow and sleet now till evening

Been snowing non stop for 1 hour between Millstreet and Macroom. Varying intensity but proper lying snow looks inevitable by lunchtime!
