Roofs, foliage, and car now white.

It is quite heavy here on the high ground in Kilkenny. I told the sister she should collect her children from school, but she wants to get the shopping done.
I can't say she was not warned when the car doesn't make it the slopes.
Leaving shopping till last minute was not a good idea, did mine yesterday.

    It is fairly heavy snow.
    Temp 0.4C
    DP 0.0C

It snows most winters up on teide. You can be lying by the pool looking up at at snow capped peak.

Had some microscopic dandruff flakes, the showers come across clew bay, then the arse falls out of them on approaching me,veeer to the right and plough into westport/croagh Patrick or skim down the sea and plough into mweelra mountains.

Heavy wintry mix around Tralee / Castleisland, nothing sticking low down but white on hills and seeing cars with snow coatings obviously from driving over high ground.

    Crappy non-event thus far. Disappointed.

Showers are heavy but don't last long enough to pile up.

The plan was there is a chance we will see it. Chance is the big word.

Conditions earlier were perfect for snow but temps have risen to 1.5c and it has started to become slushy. These airmasses can produce a lot of snow but showers need to be persistent and heavy, sunshine and showers is no good.

i think the fact that it has been dry in Dublin so far today is a good thing. Never expected anything in Dublin until this evening so if it is not snowing, staying dry until then is the ideal situation. Rather that than pointless rain / sleet.
still hopeful that something might come our way this evening and tonight, not expecting anything massive but a decent covering of snow would do the job. At least for  now the ground is relatively dry which is a good start

Snowing heavy now beside the sea, west mayo

Got much colder since morning from 4 down to 1.5. Lovely covering on the hills. Higher ground making that crucial difference.
