Just drove by ween Pettigo and Laghy in Donegal. High terrain. Rain. It is cold but the showers aren't heavy or intense. Barely a dusting on the Sligo Mountains.

Good and all as met.ie are it really is a nowcast situation. You couldn't rule out anywhere getting lucky.

For all the hype yes it is. And I said no snow in the west where I am.

The more persistent snow has been delayed due to the warm front, but it should snow this afternoon and evening in more parts of the country as the colder air really sets in and a polar low type feature moves down.... I don't think anyone here predicted significant accumulations. What was suggested is heavy snow becoming more widespread in the afternoon/ towards evening with modest accumulations in places... if that does not happen, obviously then, yes, we were wrong.

Snow has just eased off here ( in the west) at the minute.

Hardly a cloud in the sky in Kilkenny. I think they make it up so we don't have 'cash for ash' headlines :)

Yeah temps and dp too high at present unless you have a heavy shower. I was looking at predictive radar and from 6 on looks promising.

Clouds starting to move rapidly here in South Dublin with patches of blue starting to show. Its probably that they were already moving fast, just not noticeable due to the formation. Looking a little fluffier and some darker ones floating in.

Still dry and cold, about 2c

    **** BREAKING NEWS *****

Donald Trump just announced ( After seeing Irelands fake snowman on Boards.ie) that * SNOW IN IRELAND IS FAKE NEWS * and if its true that he will be suing Climate Change who assured him previously that Doonbeg never gets snow !

Mr Trump also said that if Mr Putin is clearing Russia's snow and dumping loads of it over Ireland to damage his golf course then that not GREAT and we should expect snowmageden to happen in the next few hours !

Sky weather reporters ( using the most reliable human technology called eye to the sky) confirm that they believe snowmageden is about to happen and it will be a dark evening for Ireland !

You must find this thread hilarious today, people hoping for a glimpse of snow and then losing the head with excitement when they see a few flakes, while you're over there buried in it, ha
