Snow has slowed down but it's very thick here and a dry day tomorrow so I'm happy enough.

No, there was a Yellow warning for Leinster, that's all. I'm sure the north-midland parts of Leinster got a decent amount.

    Lightning here in Dublin?

And actually, even that broad Leinster Yellow warning was for 'snow-ice', not snow.

There wasn't much snow forecast for the east anyway, don't know why people are so upset.

Not upset, just baffled at why it was declared status yellow for snow and ice. We didn't see much at all of that.

Met Eireann include Dublin in Leinster warning not separately.

Blizzard snow comes every half hour or so. Youghal/Dungarvan area.
Will put up a pic before I go to bed but it's heaviest I have seen since I came here.

Obviously. But a warning for Leinster does not have to mean that it will affect Dublin. I don't know why people think that.

Nor did we expect any, but there was a small potential and if the warning wasn't issued and all of a sudden a few Cm came and drove Dublin to a Standstill where would Met Eireann be?

And the Moral of the story is, boards.ie for chit-chat, met.ie for weather forecasts.

But even outside of Dublin it seems to be a non event.

I don't get the agro here man, Dublin is part of Leinster, so a warning that covers Leinster should cover Dublin? No?

    anyway I'm out.

Not necessarily. Leinster's a pretty big area, and Dublin isn't a big part of that. Plenty of Leinster could be affected without Dublin being so.

Eh, I have a covering of snow here, enough to cause hazardous driving conditions.

I'm glad I was warned, made sure I came home straight from work before the snow started.

    3.4 degrees

Can anyone explain why we are getting higher temperatures now?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,160 ✭✭✭✭Oscar Bravo

8pm. Cork airport gusting 49 knots

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,181 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Two big bands of percip heading for Clare, nice gap in the middle looks like it's aiming right at me, as it has with every single shower today. There is bad luck, and then there is this.

Well met.ie are the professionals but the forecasts here mirrored theirs. All working from same charts and models. In Cork thus far its been exactly as I had expected with lots of wet snow but not sticking. Who knows though....
