gotomypc, logmein, remote desktop access

Can anyone tell me if there is any software that allows access from one PC to another in separate locations.

I have in the past few years thought it was a piece of cake as i used to use both gotomypc and logmein regularly a few years back, i never paid for a subscription and i think i remember having a free account.

I guess these have all become paid services now. I understand that for these products to work they would have allowed thousands (possibly millions) of users free of charge (or trial runs) and then change it to paid subscription.

Is there an alternative or another free software out there - can anyone please advise

If you own multiple PCs then Teamviewer will quite quickly lock you out for suspected commercial use.

Teamviewer is great until you start getting the annoying prompts where they think you are using it for commercial use. VNC variants are OK if you are on the same LAN but a lot of the variants haven't progressed in the last five years and can still have poor performance.

I would recommend looking into Anydesk. There is a free and pro version but at least the free version doesn't do annoying prompts or nag screens - I use this app between four computers over the last year without issues. It comes as a runnable exe or full blown unattended access. Performance-wise, it is very fast and very reliable.
