Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Firmino needs to play through the middle. Sturridge off for origi. Can off for gini. We would be mucho improved.

Origi has done nothing the last few games.

Saints will probably regret that missed chance for Tadic there. He should have scored.

we have been quite poor for a month now, very worrying, lucky to still be in this

Can forcing it, taking it upon himself.

    We are living dangerously.

That was the exact same attack, Redmond gets in behind TAA and beats Matip far far too easily.

I know it's been said a lot but we miss Mane so, so badly. Literally look like a different team altogether without him the last few weeks.

Southampton being wasteful again tonight. We are showing no sign of being able to take advantage though. Bad shot by Davis.

Form has been poor longer than a few weeks.

Southampton going to regret all this chances.

Should have had the tie over after the first leg and now two glorious chances missed.

Oof, ****in hell...that half a toe Hendo got on the ball to stop the shot first time was huge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Defence need to wake up. Southampton won't keep missing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Firmino beats his man and passes it to Sturridge but Sturridge is flat footed and not ready to run onto it.

    Another blind alley by Sturridge.

Can giving Trent no cover when he goes forward...

Teams are just giving us the cross every time knowing we won't likely score from it. Need more central runners.

Sturridge dancing on his own tonight.

When the last time Can made a ball winning tackle? Complete passenger for months now yet keeping his starting place. Madness.

Alex Arnold will cost Liverpool the game his posistioning is shockingly bad. Doesn't recover quick enough either when liverpool lose the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

It's said a good striker needs to be selfish, that makes sense when it comes to choosing to pass rather than shoot, but it doesn't mean you should ignore all your teammates and try to do everything yourself.

Well drew with fućking Sunderland a few weeks ago. Most teams steamrolled them since

    Emre Can't.

I've had it up to here with Can - shocking defensive header.

How often does a player get a new contract only to down tools after?

Christ, there's another half gone, no significant chances created. "Plenty left in it" though, I guess.

His positioning is where he should be. In klopp system the midfielder is supposed to provide the cover. Can hasn't done that.

Coutinho's easily been our best player here.

Agree to disagree but they can put migs out there if they want. Just get firmino in the middle

klopp asking the fans more than once this month to help the team, how the fcuk can you cheer this rubbish i want to ask, fans giving it plenty. things need to change on the pitch fast, enough talk

Once again there is no tempo in the play. All to comfertable for the saints

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,594 ✭✭✭kingshankly

We must be one of the easiest teams to defend against
We create nothing just pass the ball over and back across the middle of the park it's horrible to watch the last 6 weeks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,787 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

    Very open game.

    Classic formation of:

    Karius

    3 at the back

And everyone else all out attack.

Liverpools defence along the right is atrocious, they're making Nathan Redmond look like Lionel Messi tonight.

Since that second half display at Bournemouth pretty much we haven't been able to attack properly, or defend for that matter in most games (with a few exceptions).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,404 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

We just look all over the place for the last few weeks.

Are you suggesting Coutinho will down tools or has in the 1st half?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Southampton showing us exactly what pace can do, we haven't got any in our attack right now. If we don't have pace we need to move the ball quickly and we're not, the one time we did Firmino got in and had a shot on goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Passing far to much, need to get it into box or into the gap between the two blocks of Southampton players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,680 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

Truly turgid stuff. The worst is still to come I fear.
Plus, even if they did somehow pull off a win, a potential final against utd could be the worst game of all time.

we could easily be 3 down ,at home,in the first half.. shocking

We've been ****e, but Southampton have had one shot on and another skied over the bar. Not exactly three goals worth of chances.

Not on about his offensive positioning that's fine gets himself high & wide and causes problems. Only thing say about that his transistion is poor and when in his defensive position he's poor. Example I think it was Tadic chance where he was caught and instead of getting himself behind the ball and slowing the counter attack he pressed the ball knowing he was outnumbered 2v1

    No changes, unfortunately.

EDIT: For Liverpool anyway. Long for Rodriguez for Southampton.
