The cost of bridge is ridiculous, why is it costing so much?
A bridge like this would be made from concrete so, lagan homes (the cement company) are looking to build homes in celbridge (beyond chelmsford) and straffan it is in there interest to get planning that a 2nd bridge is built so let them build it for us.
    ;-)

20 conditions, nothing jumps out at me as being drastic

    Full report here http://www.pleanala.ie/documents/orders/303/D303295.pdf

One condition is the removal of the feeder lane on Shakelton Rd... this is annoying as it would have helped traffic (the backlog that is caused by a single car turning right)

Cannot believe they took that out of it. That will be a disaster.

The one with the small river and large drainage ditch

    For the boggy bit,
There wiil be 6 huge underground water tanks to hold storm water placed mainly under open green spaces.

Plenty of estates have those, attenuation tanks. Straffan Wood in Maynooth has them under much of their green areas and a pumping station to handle the release.

Will add a little to the costs the builders need to recover so it'll add to the house prices.

It's not boggy, it has drainage going through it. It's prone to flooding so work needs to be done. Might be a factor with house insurance

Is the mystery bus to the train station sorted yet. Just wondered.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 blue flue

All the houses that were built in Celbridge back in the 1980's and early 1990's might be in the thousands along with the Celbridge Shopping Centre and Scoil na Mainistreach i think, by a local building company a boss at the helm never wearing a coat or hat in all weathers driving the coolest 4x4 a blue datsun patrol with huge tyres.

    Thank you John.

Yes at bus stops as far as main street and then you can flag it at estate entrances on Hazelhatch road

Shame none of that info has been made available anywhere by IE/NTA/whoever runs the bus.

I presume the bus stops along the route have no signage to indicate it stops there either?

It just uses all the Dublin bus stops along the route

I don't get all the issues here

Once upon a time I didn't know exactly how the bus operated either...so I asked the bus driver....

I doubt they have the right to do that as it's not Dublin Bus operating the service.

It's not perfect but it's not exactly the Enigma Code, it runs at the same time and meets the same trains every day.

That old redbrick shopping centre had so many shops in it.
Upstairs shops it had a music shop, i remember buying a sister sledge single from there and a material world for knitters and clothes makers.
Then ground floor shops it had a footwear shop, Jimmy's newsagents,a bakery, Walshes pharmacy and Quinnsworth.
    Then it burnt down.
