I think that's about it - I doubt they're discriminating against non-Poles, just that at least a passing acquaintance with the lingo would be a good thing.

Talking to a Pole recently, I was intrigued to find the Polish language courses are still being offered FOC to foreigners by the Polish governnent. I nearly did that 30 years ago.
