Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not really paying attention, what does she want? Is she looking for her own house to be made accessible for her. Or some other accommodation that is not a nursing home.

    Great question.

Also, is she on Fair Deal? Is her house being sold to reduce the State's costs?

Ah, it's been a while since the great Joe defender was on.

You might recall that the caller is giving the details, but only certain details.

A nursing home is, by definition, a place for people who need constant nursing care. It's not necessarily just for elderly people!

If we follow the normal format of the show, this could run for at least a week

The family home is not taken into account for the Fair Deal. That's why there are so many abandoned empty houses around the place. If they are rented the FD payment goes way down.

I think you'll find the family home can be used as part of the assessment. It certainly was in the case of my Mother in Law.
