if he agrees that forensic experts should look at it, he should accept the consequences. IE if foul play suspected , the nuns should be dragged before the courts

They need to call in people to dig these sites with experience in genocide war crime burials. I'd have no faith in Tusla involved in sorting out the digging crews.

No, they will need DNA from relatives first. There was a guy on radio yesterday though that reckons his sister was buried there so he's offered his DNA.

    IF. He says IF.
Jesus christ no wonder the Catholic church get away with stuff when people like this defend them no matter what.

If he believes in the scientific approach he wouldn't be a priest.

I think it might be better to wait until a link can be made between some of the remains and the particular nuns and/or others, who would have been responsible for those children before passing judgement.
I have an uneasy feeling that too many conclusions are being drawn too quickly. Nobody knows who may, or may not, have been involved or what period the human remains relate to.
    We need the scientific evidence.

I am amazed at the bullsh*t this priest is coming out with. He is a very intelligent guy. I remember him when he was in St Vincent's Secondary School, Glasnevin in the 1960s.

The children were under the control of the nuns, if they didn't physically put the children there they certainly were aware and knew who did.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 330 ✭✭Bodhran

I think the scientific evidence is there. They have done DNA testing on some of the remains and they range in age from pre-birth to about 3 years and carbon dating has revealed that the remains cover the period from the time the home was opened till its closure.

Surely some local men were involved in the burials and people into the area knew well about all those burials.

Duffy was having a breather there, he lost the track of the conversation.

i'm glad this priest is on having his say; it'll serve as a warning that the Church are in denial and have, for the most part no intention of co-operating with any investigation and will more than likely hinder it.

The State needs to grab the bull by the horns, search all Church premises and seize all documents that have anything to do with those years.

If this man believes in his catholic faith he needs to go to a confession box and repent & bring his father with him...
