Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What is going on in the background in studio?

Could kind of hear someone talking off mic and there was a bunch of movement being picked up by Joes mic as well.

And, oh, what a surprise another British accent to add even more to the dodgyness. Literally any dodgy enterprise in Ireland has British people involved. We must be really easy marks.

They'd need to make sure that's properly accounted for, then.

A friend of mine who has been paying for health insurance for the past two decades recently had two incidents that required him to attend A&E. He waited out in the waiting room with everyone else and it took hours for him to be seen. The aftercare was handled at a private hospital that he visited twice for about 10 minutes total.

    Utter waste of money.

And similarly I had an accident leaving me with broken bones, went to a private clinic, in, seen, sorted and home in not much longer than an hour. Seeing a consultant quickly far outweighs using a public A&E.

Agree totally, go to Beacon Clinic with private health insurance, in and out in an hour or admitted. Definitely worth having.

Ah ffs the today FM app does mid interview, only caught about half of it and no mention of Joe in that part. MattChew did say they offered RTÉ s right of reply at the end though which I'm guessing they declined.

THE UNITE TRADE union has said the building that formerly housed its headquarters at 15 Merrion Square in Dublin was offered as accommodation for the homeless three years ago.
The building was rejected by homelessness charity Focus Ireland as “completely unsuitable for their needs,” the union said.
This evening’s statement was issued in response to a story published by RTÉ News yesterday reporting that a trust connected to Unite applied to be exempted from social housing for a development at its former HQ around the time one of the union’s top officials, Brendan Ogle, was engaged in the Apollo House occupation.

A doctor has warned that a lethal white powder being sold on Ireland's streets for the first time could be mistaken for cocaine.

The warning comes as the HSE has issued a public health message about synthetic drug known as U-47700, or by its street name U-4, following the death of a teenager in Cork city.

Friend of the show Stephen Sacker from last week who wanted to bury de fadder with the mudder in the back garden...
The Sacker family home is situated on two acres near the village of Donard.

The couple did not want to integrate their family into the local community so their six children were home-schooled.

“People came to pay their respects when she died but I sent them away,” said Hugh.

“I’ve a long history of being difficult,” said the former professor of German at Trinity College.
