Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't know if anybody else has noticed this but I'm pretty sure that D'Arcy was given a dictate NOT to discuss the topics that were being discussed on Liveline, or to go on one of his own predictable rants about a topic discussed on Liveline.

I think he actually made reference to it the other day.

Yes perhaps after Ray "stealing" de thunder from Joe's Orkanbi topic there was a brawl in the RTÉ corridors and the decision made to not cross swords so to speak.

he made reference to the fact he was not allowed to talk about the LL- sounds like something he'd do alright, probably thought the microphone was off

Don't know why there is so much whining about abuse of the free travel system - sure everybody knows that Paddy will scam anything he can from medical cards to dodgy tv boxes to free accomodation and free lunches....an so will Mary.!

Hard to blame them when elected lads and lardy lasses with megafones incite them not to pay a lawful tax..a tax thats accepted and paid in most of the rest of Europe.

Bit strange that CIE guy Barry Kenny wasn't on given he would use the national airways to promote the opening of a new jax in Woodlawn.!

Surprised he wasn't on dancing with the "stars" given the amount of air times he gets...good at his job in fairness.

And...before you ask...I haven't got a link to any of the sbove .....OK ?

Since when do Irish people refer the Irish public as "Paddy"?

Is it some inferiority complex from reading the British media?

Is it from Enda Kenny using it?

I'm pretty sure it's meant as an offensive term.

    Never understood it.....

    ....and whose Mary?

Yes, the same gimp does Eddie Murphy as Joe calls him, except it's not an impression of Eddie Murphy, it's an impression of Donkey from Shrek and there's a big difference.

He also does Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, and Roy Keane and Conor McGregor and each one is worse than the previous one. For research purposes I listened one day and I'm still cringing months later.

I thought Thalia was better looking than most out there who claim to be models, which is every second English young one on reality tv as far as I can see. I almost spilled my tea when she did the splits thing at the end

ah the days when the only "model" on tv was the daughter out of Bread- Aveline

Irish Catholic News, circulation ca. 20,000 and dropping year by year due to it's demographic passing away will be held up as some sort of compass for the opinion of the ordinary Irish person.

Sweet suffering fcuk. The Catholic Church proves itself time and time again to be so out of touch with the people in this country, but it's held up as some sort of "finger on the pulse of the nation" thing. They're honestly not much different to Donald Trump, someone who displayed the complete lack of professionalism in so many RTE hacks over the past few months. I don't like Trump, but his election sorting the chaff out from the grain in what makes a good broadcaster/journalist IMO.

The church's attitude to Fr Flannery shows them up for what they are; a group who are paranoid and living in fear that somebody might take over from their misguided ideas. When I was in school in the 80's I got into a debate with a priest about how far away from the teachings of Christ (Love and Respect) that the Catholic Church is, he never let me forget it, up to his death 25 years later.

Anyway, I won't be listening today, nor probably all week. Which means you're guaranteed LL Gold.

More BS from the WH and the Press.
I couldn't really care much less - my great grandparents weren't born the first time an 4sshole walked through the doors of the White House and if I had any grandkids, they'll be long dead by the time the last one does.
As for the Press Corps - I actually pay money for unbiased, objective reporting, and I'm thoroughly pissed off with the bias and unprofessionalism shown by the crowd or so-called journalists on both sides of the divide.
It's getting harder to find some real reporters with no axe to grind.
