Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The trucks arrive in and are never ever inspected by Irish authorities as to what their load is from the boats.

Yeah, and Spain being an entirely land-locked country with no seas around it, too.

Maybe these were Spanish fish on holiday, and are just being repatriated.

You see people harping on about foreigners fishing our waters. Fact is, we in Ireland have never bothered setting up a major fish processing industry. Thats our fault and nobody to blame but ourselves.

All the whinging in the world won't fix that.

The clown Creed wants to share the Irish mackerel fishery quotas with the north...
Minister for the Marine Michael Creed faces a clash with the influential Donegal supertrawler fleet following his decision to review the share-out of the lucrative mackerel fishery.

Mr Creed has also said he was committed to legislation allowing northern and southern fishing vessels reciprocal fishing rights within the island’s territorial waters, in spite of opposition within the industry.

Absolutely right. Before we joined the EEC we had plenty of time to build up a major fishing industry. We never bothered our ar$es. Now we blame everything on Europe. Typical Irish, playing the victim card.
