Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

RTÉ has confirmed it is to sell a portion of its land at Donnybrook, Dublin 4.

Savills has been appointed to handle the sale.

It is expected to take place in the first half of this year.

In a statement to staff, RTÉ Director General Dee Forbes said the move would allow the organisation to reshape and reinvest.

The statement added that the "final details of the land to be sold are still being finalised and are commercially sensitive."

Part of "it's" land, more like part of "our" land

That will pay for a few over-paid network 'stars'. For a year or two, anyway. After that, more sell-offs, or licence fee raise.

Yep. Failing to deal with the root cause of their problems; sky high wages for such a small operation in real terms, dreadful wastage, bad management of programming (Mad Men at midnight always sticks in my mind), and using a State institution to line the pockets of cronies (Louis Walsh boy bands on the Late Late Show conveyor belt & the Funny Friday crew) are all part of the problem.

Fail to deal with the rotten core and you can expect it to continue to rot from the centre out over time.

Joe just acknowledged that apologies are due to Chinese people! Sil's joke seemed to be using racism to say curse words.

The crowd sound like they're lapping it up though.

I'd say the smell of pissy knickers from that room with all the guffaws would be worse than bingo on a Saturday night.

As part of the new RTE anti bullying campaign, Liveline will be slagging Pascal Donohue about his list, to show people how cruel bullying can be.

He found it "very funny, very good, much funnier than I could ever be" (actual quote) until they published his fees. Funny that....

In Jie's moynd so to speak:
FunnyFryday crap impressions = comedy genius.
David McSavage's brilliant interpretation of Joe on The Savage Eye = blasphemy.

I hardly watch the telly and by far and away my main contact with RTE is via the radio. So, in effect I pay €160 per annum for this crap.

    <fumes>

I rebooted the pc and reset the radio app, of course it was still tuned to Radio 1.
It's like passing the scene of a horrible accident. You can't help but sneak a peek.
