There would have been 20-30 days that he could have had the car retested since he first failed the test, maybe at odd times of the day but he wasn't arsed.

If only there was a yellow coloured paper disc on the windscreen of the car that had the date when the NCT was due printed in big bold lettering so every single time you passed by your windscreen you could see when the test was valid until. If only you could book your car in 3 months early for the NCT to avoid any busy periods for tests or retests. If only caller, if only.

It was certainly excessive, but he doesn't really have anywhere to go with this. I dont know what he expects Duffy to do. The ads were on the radio saying that they would take the car. He was driving on the road without an NCT, and must have been aware that this could happen.

maybe this fellow was a bit smart to the garda , any of my dealings with them they are usually reasonable if you are reasonable with them.

His car was 12D so would have had never been tested before, first NCT would have been due in 2016 and would have been valid for 2 years.

If only it was possible to somehow see if all your lights worked, I might setup a training course showing people how to walk around their car while the lights are on and charge €49.99 for it.

Thats's the problem here you see...people always think that the Gardai should be after "de udder fellas". There's a serious disregard to law in this country, I can't blame the Gardai for enforcing it, in fact I welcome it, even though a judge admitted once that I was a victim of overzealous enforcement i was happy to take it on the chin.
