That BMC team looks like it has too many leaders and not enough domestiques.

Or too many great domestiques and without a great leader...

BMC team announced... BMC Racing is heading into the Vuelta a Espaith a strong team but without a clear general classification leader. The nine-man roster announced Monday includes Tejay van Garderen, Nicolas Roche and Samuel Shez, all of whom will start the race with a top GC result in mind, while Alessandro De Marchi, Damiano Caruso and Rohan Dennis will be on the hunt for stage wins. Kilian Frankiny will make his Grand Tour debut, while Daniel Oss and Francisco Ventoso will supply the power and protection for the GC riders.

They'll be targeting the opening team time trial to get their hands on the red jersey...

Anyone follow vuelta before? Have flights booked and am looking at a camper but haven't been to any grand tour yet. Is it generally a case of get to climb/spot for the day the night before and leave after that stage for the next spot? Anyone got any tips? Would love to bring my bike too but the thoughts of lugging around the bike box in camper is putting me off but am struggling to find anywhere around Bilbao to hire!

Not that I've seen reported but he is out of contract at the end of the season.

    Aquablue?

    Aquablue?

Not sure but just having a quick look a Procycling Stats and it has 15 leaving Team Sky....

    http://www.procyclingstats.com/team.php?id=1423&c=8&season=2017

Could be just that they have not confirmed contracts for 2018..... but still it is over half their roster.....

Always thought Deignan was abit out his depth at sky with the roster of riders they have. He seems to be used by them for the minor races and isnt coming on as a rider, be one of those guys you,d fear would slip from a top team into a mediocre pro conti team and then just vanish off the scene

Tbf to him, hes been around for over a decade now, and has more than held his own as good mountain dom im the odd gt he has ridden for sky.

Its just they have so many other, arguably better riders

Hes also done the wt -pro conti trip, and came back up to wt again

He was on the list I seen yesterday on some of the FB Cycling pages.

This is the most up to date start list, that I've seen. Cannondale Drapac seems to be the only team not finalised.
Two Irish and one, who used to be Irish.

Just watching highlights of last year on Eurosport, where was the Quintana of last year in the TDF and Giro this year. He should have skipped one of those this year watching him go with Contador early and then seriously hurt froome on stage 15 it's like watching him in the canyon ad , a marvel to watch on a bike but we haven't seen that in him this year at all. Actually Chavez was good last year too.

I watched it last night and was thinking the exact same, I also think Froome looked better at the Vuelta last year in comparison to this years tour

I think finance dictated that Froome would be gunning for the Tour but on a personal level La Vuelta is his main target. He came to the Tour over weight and under cooked and still won. He's going to be primed for this.

Looks like BMC are going from lots of leaders to none soon

Hermans crash at Poland, TJs fragile demeanour and now Sanchez on HGH ( at his age ?) .....

Any boardise volunteers for the Angry Loo ?

BMC have been a mess for years, no clear direction, no real leaders or plan and then the whole Tejay thing

I suppose we were due a doping violation since a Grand Tour is just about to start. That seems the way the UCI like to roll these days...

Pirazzi & Ruffoni just before the start of the Giro
Cardoso just before the start of the TdF
And now Sanchez just before the start of the Vuelta

GHRP seems to be pretty popular at the moment.

Have you seen Super Mario lately???

Even if your not a pro, Testosterone, HGH etc. are readily prescribed these days for men who want to keep some of their youthfulness.

Victor Conte (he of BALCO and the drug THG) painted a very depressing picture lately. He said micro-dosing is almost impossible to detect along with substances like IGF-1 LR3.

I just watch sport these days...
