saw this on Facebook earlier. Young fella used to go there and all the kids would be working on the boats over the winter
    MINDLESS ACT OF VANDALISM.
Today our BP18 - Sandycove was attacked and set ablaze by cruel vandals resulting in it's total loss.
We are devastated by the loss of one of our longest serving boats which has introduced hundreds of young people to sailing and instilled the spirit of adventure to all who sailed on her.
Sandycove was the 12th BP18 ever built and our Scouts will be very sad to see her go.
Our volunteers work very hard to provide this great equipment and experiences to all our young people and we hope none of our friends and supporters encounter these unscrupulous individuals who were low enough to attack their local Scout Group.
Does anyone have any memories sailing or rowing on Sandycove over the years?

That's shocking, pure vandalism. I hope they catch them.

Really awful. Wonder if some fundraising can be done to help them replace the boat, though it sounds like there's a lot of history to it that will never be replaced.
