I applied to Walkers and got an acknowledgement of application on the 24th of March, has anyone heard anything else back from them yet?

No, but I'd imagine it'll be this week.

Just a confirmation email when the deadline passed.

Never heard back from either, four weeks is a bit long, took it as a pfo tbh and accepted another immediate offer.

Beauchamps and Philip Lee only respond to people who are successful. I remember interviewing with Philip Lee even, and they never got back to me.

At least that's clear now. Not great from then if I'm honest.

Ya that's shocking from a so called "big" firm.

I mean I'm a desperate law graduate so I'd take anything - but I have to say it still irks me from time to time. That firm lost a lot of respect from me anyways. I even emailed them a long while after the interview and I got no response again.

I think generally speaking these summer internships are more difficult to obtain in comparison to TCs. I've had more success getting TC interviews using the same sort of answers in my applications so it's just one of those mysteries of life.

I think realistically, a firm in the 10-20 bracket might be useful experience, it's probably best if you want to work on substantial deals and better clients then the top 5 or so firms should be the aim. I'm lucky enough to have a few options. But it still really annoys me that firms (both big and small) have opaque requirements for the summer internships and they have a lack of respect for their applicants. If that's the way they treat prospective employees then imagine how they treat actual employees. At least the bigger ones send PFOs.

I think it's safe to assume that this thread is now finished. Thanks to everyone contributing throughout this painful process. Congrats to all who got an internship and to all who didn't, it's their loss. Keep the chins up and focus on the next round of TC applications.

    It's usually a 3 month contract, paid.
