If Fed gets the UE down and keeps this level he wins.

can't really decide who I want to win. maybe Rafa just a little bit.
this is a key title in the legacy of Fed vs Rafa and for people who are into it, I'm not so much, the "GOAT" discussions.
If Fed wins he goes to 18 and wins probably his last GS title with a win over his nemesis.
Rafa wins, shows his record over Fed yet again and gets to only 2 GS titles behind him with the chance of winning a couple of French opens at least over the next few years if he can stay physicallly healthy.

I think that like a lot of people, I would like Federer to win, but I don't want Nadal to lose!

.......and I see Sky have a banner going along the bottom of the screen every so often telling me that they are discontinuing it at the end of the month. Pheck them anyway.

In the 6 slam finals Fed's lost to Nadal he has never been in this "commanding" position at this stage of his losses..

Honestly, I didn't think Fed had this performance in him.

    Stunning.

Another break for Federer.....that's the third set sorted.

    Fed is on fire.

First game hold was key to Federer taking this set.

Come on Rafa, bring it to 5!
Fed backhand is a weapon right now. He's dictating play with his choices at the moment.
It's geared towards short points, by playing a game going for winners at the right time.
He knows that Nadal will win points the longer rallies go on. clever.
Nadal needs to find a way to impose himself more here. not something you say often about Nadal.

Yep! Still haven't come to an agreement with Discovery. And I think Eurosport have US Open coverage instead of Sky this year.

can Fed maintain this? - if he can - Nadal is done.
Nadal has to hope for a drop off in intensity!

If Fed wins he goes down as one of the greatest sportsmen ever. He is already up there. His commitment and longevity really are special.

Federer has to wrap it up in 4 sets I think. 5 is in Rafa's favour and it could get to Fed mentally.

3 sets played in 2 hours. That's quick for Nadal.

Federer on top of his game. Brilliant serving and backhand working well. Can he maintain it? Keeping pressure on Nadal.

Fed's striking is top notch...on this form Nadal can only hope to win on UE count..

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

Nadal struggling to get any kind of a foothold on the Federer serve. He standing an awful long way behind the baseline on the Federer serve.Federer serve and backhand are imperious.

Perhaps he's got to venture forward to the net where he's had a high success rate.

Equally if Nadal comes back he will go down as one of the greatest sportsmen.

There's the break! Took advantage of the UE's!

Wow..Fed goes from 2-1 on to underdog in that one game.
