Delivered from Amazon at 6.45 to my parcel motel. Any ideas when that will hit my locker in Dublin?

Anyone see eurogamer post on 30 stg get 6stg free then couple with 42 stg digital download via Amazon UK. .... thats 40.50e for Mario not bad. I i think no hassle Ireland and codes from Amazon UK?

Is this deal still going? I can't find any details after searching 'eurogamer amazon voucher'?

Good morning, do any of you wonderful people know if GameStop will honour a pre-order, but at a different store from which said pre-order was purchased?

Nope. You’d have to go to the store you made the pre order at to cancel!

    Ah ok, thanks alot Miles.

I see Amazon's normal service resumes. Still hasn't shipped yet. Not in a rush thankfully, and for £37 can't complain too much.

Nothing from Smyths yet except the initial order confirmation weeks ago.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

Midnight launch last night was good craic. Most people were there for assassins creed, a few for Mario, no one for Wolfenstein it seems.

    Nah. 43 here!

Girlfriend was over last night and I'm at a table quiz tonight. The game is downloaded and ready to go.
Looking forward to an hour on the Switch in bed tonight. :)

Ya still "Dispatching Soon" for me too. But I'm paying £43 and it's for the kid who is in a rush. He's got next week off so this is the time to have it. Now I'm wondering if I should cancel it and just pay the extra to get it locally :(

I download my copy from the French eShop this morning. €44 isn't too bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,195 ✭✭✭deadl0ck

So what's the consensus on the cheapest way to get the download ?
Is it the SA eShop ?

Just picked my copy up, it's updating over the phone hotspot as we speak.
Smyth's gave me a lovely Super Mario Odyssey hat with it, not sure whether to use it myself, as a man going on 46, or keep it fir Cidonalad for Christmas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,557 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Yep. The spreadsheet site has updated (now at: https://eshop-prices.com/)

The Mario Odyssey page says at the top:

Best deal: ZA South Africa for 669.00 ZAR

    That's just over €41.

I'm late to the game here due to a load of ongoing personal stuff.
If I create SA account where/how do I buy credit ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

SA takes Credit Card so you pay only what the game costs.

I could get/buy it off you if you really dont want it: my son would have loved that

At the age of 6 he has finished all modern Mario games so quite a fan

    No.

Change your country in mynintendo website to South Africa. Purchase. Change back to Ireland.

Only need other regions for US / Japan etc

58.99 in Argos and there is a special offer - Buy Mario Odyssey and get Mario + Rabbids for 33.99.

    Damn that's a good deal.

Gone from spending zero today to maybe spending 93!!

Yep, that is a good deal.
Picked the 2 up a little while ago.

Plus, pick up something small for €7 to bring your total to €100 and get a €10 voucher.
    Or €5 voucher with a €50 spend...

  • Registered Users Posts: 983 ✭✭✭wexdevil

uuuugh that price is SA is sooooo tempting but I've been going physical due to the fact I haven't gotten any SD card for the switch yet.

Picked mine up from Smyths this morning too, no hat for me! :(

As another 30 something man, this shouldn't disappoint me, yet somehow it does...

  • Just played the first hour. I actually didn't spoil the game with the previews as I stayed clear.

Honestly, it's been nearly a decade since I remember a game making me grin this much.
    This is groundbreaking.

    And that soundtrack!

Just reading the thread and its payday, this and BoTW is the the reason I forked out for a Switch...

    Time to reserve in Argos...

There were a few of the Mario Odyssey Switch bundles on the shelf in Smyths, for anyone here that doesn't yet have a Switch... ;)

When I collected the game in smyths this morning, three different people purchased the combo deal within the space of me being at the counter and paying

Side note, does anyone know what buying power moons in the shop for coins means?

Have it downloading now, typical that my Ethernet to USB adaptor jacked in, downloading over wifi is taking an age :(

Lol, just trying to defer going on lunch until download complete :D

Got it on the South African eStore, think it worked out about €40 which is a great price!

No, the Super Mario Odyssey game is a download code, not a physical copy. Physical is always so much better.

I'm 90% digital on PS and Xbox but going to be getting the majority of Switch games on cart.

My order for the Neon Switch is going in tonight, delivered next week and then put up for Christmas :(

I think I'll pick up Iaasc, Zelda, Mario and Golf Story in the next few weeks.

Happy to get the hat thrown in for free from Smyths. Glad I pre-ordered from them.

  • @Mr. E

Make sense to create a spoiler thread for mario Odyssey?

Can't you just use spoiler tags? I don't think games get spoiler specific threads. well I've not seen one here before.

I hadn't realised I asked you. It was a suggestion to a Mod directly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,557 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

    I'm not a mod here. :)

I agree with sligeach though.... I don't want to have to jump around multiple threads about the same game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

Wasn't very private though, was it? I mean, if you shout across the bar "Hey Margret! Don't forget to buy my Anal Centipede cream!" you can't very well complain when everyone looks or moves their chair away.

Incidentally, Anal Centipede is the sequel to Neon by Nightfall, in shops by christmas.

Grand, no panic was just a suggestion. No big deal either way. Just find at times people forget to put spoiler tags on certain things (remember a couple of games previously)

At least with the thread you are aware before you enter

    See what Johnny says

Is it just the first book in the shops by Christmas or both? I assume you'll be on the Late Late to promote it. Be interesting seeing the kids on the Toy Show talking about reading Anal Centipede. Though is it about a centipede who's very picky, a centipede which nests in people or a guy who plays centipede using alternate methods to cotrol the stick?

I would suggest updating the thread title to include something like
    *Marked Spoilers Inside*
