No, you can choose any gun you want to use in any division, just that there are specific divisions for an ability for a particular weapon. Like with Airborne, you can equip a suppressor to an SMG for example. You cannot equip suppressor on any other type of weapon or in any other type of division.

    Thanks, that makes sense

STG44 is my go to rifle but I'm interested that you both rate the Volkssturmgewehr higher - is it just all round better handling or stopping power?

Higher fire rate coupled with lower recoil which makes it a bullet hose basically

The downsides to it are slower ADS and sprint out time but the general feeling is the positives far outweigh the negatives.

It seems nailed on for a nerf in the near future so the BAR should be top of the list soon I'd say

Was in a game of ear there and ended up me against four opponents... Wasn't much fun

Don't stress it too much I'd say. I found the learning curve on this particular game really steep and I've been playing COD since MW2 (2009).

It gets better - I found sticking to War helps as it's less stressful

Its just game mode when selecting a new game like TDM or Domination.

Basically is objective based but there is no track of your deaths. Most of the maps have a couple of objectives.

The game is split into 2 halves. I half you are defending objectives and the other attacking them.

Here is an example with tips for one of them

Just got WW2 over the weekend after staying away from COD since Ghosts as I hated the non-boots on the ground style of play in recent years. In Ghosts I had a respectable 2.5 KD earned from rushing around the map with the K7 with lightweight, marathon, quickdraw etc.

I'm having trouble finding a similar rushing class in WW2 however. Any recommendations for a good rushing class? I'm using airborne with the PPSH at the minute but I'm only rank 22 so haven't unlocked all attachments etc, and my game plays are so so, usually struggling to get over a 1.5 KD. Any tips?

    Cheers.

To be honest that's your best combination if you want to rush

I think the general feeling though is that rushing isn't as viable in this game as it was previously because of slower sprint-out and ADS times make the time to go from sprinting to shooting much slower than usual

A possible side effect of this is that a lot of players have noticed this and abandoned rushing in favour of a slower play style. This then has a knock on effect again I believe because if there are more players being more cautious and posting up at head glitches or doorways then in turn it makes it harder even again for people trying to rush

    This +1

I used to rush all the time. In this game I’ve had to change my play style a good bit. Walk in a lot of places I’d have run in previous CODs

Gunslinger cuts sprint out time but only if you shoot first before breaking sprint. If you break sprint by ADS then is useless

War is good fun and it feels like you earn XP faster in that game mode.

WW2 has my highest K/D out of any COD :P, I only get less than 1.0 if the connection is **** - which is normally the cause for my deaths in this game.

I'd imagine they are pretty standard. The ones that work for me are 2 airborne classes - 1 AR and 1 Sub

    Primary - STG/PPSH/Volks

Quickdraw and extended mags (sometimes high caliber on ARs instead of extended mags)

    Secondary - 1911

Basic training is either Hunker if playing War/Dom/Hardpoint
TDM I run either Inconspicious (quieter)/Flanker (Hidden from UAV while moving)

Trick with QD and sprinting is to break your sprint by pulling back on left stick before ADS then QD works fine. If you use ADS you need to wait for sprint out time to complete so QD is wasted.

Another option is to run infantry and make use of the faster movement while ADS and then ADS around corners :)

Lads what do ye think of the rifle you start with m19141 or something like that. With a few attachments I like how it feels.

Also can someone explain the prestige system for me? In the lobby it’s telling me that my gun is available for prestige so what does that entail

Personally I am not a fan of the 1941. I’d take the stg over it any day.

Weapon prestige means that you can prestige your weapon and it allows you to put your clan tag on the weapon and 2nd prestige I think is a kill counter. I never bother tbh

It's an ok gun, I prefer the STG, FG 42 and Bar over it.
Just unlocked the Volkssturmgewehr and it seems to be a beast - good steady solid feel to it.

Prestiging your weapon allows you to either put your clan tag or kill count on the weapon.
Resets to zero each time you prestige.

The volks is too good. I'd say enjoy it while you can because there's no way it won't be nerfed at some stage

Explain to a dummy what a clan tag is ?

A clan tag is a four character (maximum) prefix attached to a player's screen name or gamertag. It appears in closed square brackets before the player's username.

For example, I have mine as [PhD] Swaginator457.

Go to dossier > clan tag, you can use 4 letters or numbers which go beside your name on screen.
You see a lot of Irish lads with Eire set as their tag in HQ.

Just spent an hour playing new maps. Not really liking them at all. Maybe just need to get used to them. Anthropoid is just frustrating.

The resistance division is painful everyone just huns you down when their map blurs

Don't have the new over powered rifle unlocked yet but I'm picking it up off the ground every game. It's way over powered!! I don't wanna use it much as I know it will be nerfed and my favourite gun is the STG.

They really need a variety of contracts. The ones right now are useless. Stupid headshot ones. And other crap ones.

All the pistol ones and the resistance contracts are doing my head in.

New rifle is easy enough to get I bought it from the collections. It’s worth it too as it’s probably my favourite. Like a better stg

The headshot ones I've started to do easy enough. Aiming up you miss more shots but you only need 5. Tactical knife kills count with the pistol one so you can knock that out with the resistance division one easy enough running around with it. People are drawn to you with the mini map and tend to panic when you run at them shooting too.

In all my years of COD, ive never been a headshot guy. But I'm kinda enjoy aiming up more often now. I still struggle to get them however.

I actually like when people run resistance. They're letting me know they're near which is an advantage to me. So many times because of resistance, I think I've killed people over them killing me.

I hate resistance for that reason. Only run it to get challenges. Its like having a big beacon flashing telling enemies you are near by. Love it when others run it though :)

Ditto - I can't see a reasonable excuse for having that crappy scrambler perk give enemies advance warning

I suppose if it wasn't on the class, then the other perk where you see which direction enemies are in would be overpowered

How much is to buy from the collection? I'm mad to try it out but there's no way I'm playing 50 games or anything like that contract to get my hands on it.

I think it was expensive enough 23k or something like that if you have none of the bits from the supply drops.

I very rarely buy stuff so had it saved up.

Closest would be tier 4 of the resistance division which flashes in the direction that an enemy is in when they are near
