I'm 28, I've been raised to play first person shooters with a keyboard and a mouse - that's what is normal to me. Doom, Duke Nukem, Medal of Honour, Counter-Strike, COD, etc.

I've played FPS games on console and in my opinion it's garbage. Not suitable at all, especially when compared to playing on PC. I have an XB1 and that's for games like FIFA.

FWIW, I've a fairly old-ish PC, I'd say 3 years anyway and it runs well for me and hasn't crashed once, I haven't experienced any low FPS. I've got a i7-3770K @3.50ghz and a Nvidia 780 Ti.

I doubt that. I'm not sure how anybody could favour using an xbox controller say over a mouse and keyboard? I tried FPS games on console and it's so clunky to play with a controller.

How could you doubt it when player counts prove so? Call of Duty barely fits into the top 100 most played games on PC, compared to console where it's the best selling game almost every year. You need to do a bit of research.

You would be right with saying a controller is clunky though as PC players have an advantage over console players with accuracy.

I doubted that I was the first person you've ever heard saying that they enjoy COD/FPS' games more on PC.

As you said yourself, people on PC's have an "advantage", that also lead to the game being played competitively and there was proper gaming communities in Call of Duty 1 and Call of Duty 2. There was competitive teams and events and also clan ladders (clanbase) in those games. You just don't have that in the newer COD's because there is new release of the game every year and it's not geared towards that on console honestly.

Probably a sign of the changing gaming times that people now think that FPS games are better on consoles.

Yeah, when I was talking about my original comment, I was not referring to COD 1-3 because I never played those games nor seen gameplay of them. It would be unfair to have an opinion of them as a result.

Yes you're the first I've heard. All the people that I've come across play COD on PC just because it's their preferred platform or for the sake of custom zombies/mods.

I'll give you one COD that you cannot fight against that was poorly optimised in a lot of ways for PC though, MWR. If you do have anything interesting to say about that then go right ahead, spill the beans at me.

I got an epic uniform card in a loot drop, but I don't know how to equip it. Do I have to collect all the cards in a specific section in the quartermaster before I can actually equip the stuff?

Blops 1 etc were horrendous to get into games for the first day or 2,the midnight launches were pretty much a waste of time,by the time you got home the servers were in bits,this seems to be the opposite,the first 12 hours were perfect,then the problems getting a game started,still nothing like the old days though!

I'd say 90% of the people in this thread didn't play the original COD's and only picked up on the series in recent years (presumably on console). Which is fair enough.

The original games I believe were only on PC, so they were optimised for PC.

I have a console, I have a gaming PC. I play games that are designed for consoles on my XBOX, like FIFA. For me, FPS will always be PC based. I don't have "a preferred platform".

I can't really offer you an opinion on optimisation for two reasons. 1. After Call of Duty 1, Call of Duty UO, Call of Duty 2 and the first COD MW I never really played the series bar one version on the Xbox and I absolutely hated it. It felt awful to play, clunky, "auto aim" to help you hit targets, the skill level seemed diminished to me and that was the last FPS I bought on it.

2. I have got this new COD and as I said above, I have experienced no issues, no crashes, no FPS loss, nothing. I have seen people on both sides saying they have had some issues but I can honestly say I haven't had an issue.

When you coming Divisions, select the division card. You can change outfits there.

I reckon the HQ is killing the servers, as they now have 30+ people in a server, something they haven't had before. It's Cool, but it would be great to have an option to turn it off to improve connection.

So the last 3 Years of COD have had smoother launches with regards very little server issues, that is because a lot of the boots on the ground fans decided jumping around wasn’t for them. We had these server load issues back in MW2 Blops 1 MW3 and Blops 2 launches.
It might not seem it now but this is a good sign that so many people have got the game and want to play that the servers are overloaded, it will settle down in the next 2 to 3 days. But I see this as a positive that players are back interested in the Franchise again.
Before the US launch the game played fine here in Europe and had no probs getting games or host migration issues, different story tonight.
Anyone online in the morning should see some improvement while the US sleeps.
Btw it’s great to see so much activity in here it’s been like a ghost town in here for nearly 4 years! Let’s hope the interest keeps up all year round until Blops 4 launches next November!

Will remain that way until the majority get more comfortable with the maps. Bloody infuriating though. I've stuck a frag on every class now just chucking them in windows of mid-map buildings

Haven't played that one yet

The one with the trenches is giving me fierce trouble spotting people. Something about the colours of the map blending in with the characters. I'm getting milled out of it before I even see the guy

Too many people worry about their k/d ratio, play the bloody game properly, instead of hiding in corners, the more you play and the bettet you get then your k/d will rise..

I have probably the worst K/D out of all of you's but I don't give a crap. Here's my average K/D for the past CODs:

BO2 - 0.59 (back in its prime, getting 1 kill was a dream to me haha. I'm trying to rank it up nowadays but I'm most certainly not camping)
BO3 - 0.78
IW - 0.86
MWR - 0.62

WW2 I've only gotten to play one full match thanks to **** servers and my K/D that match was 0.94.

Despite my **** K/Ds (with the exception of BO2), I continue to not care about them and just enjoy the game AS WELL AS PLAYING THE OBJECTIVE I MAY ADD.

I've be on boards(on and off) since 2007 and back in the hey day this forum was hopping...sadly I think the forum has matched the downward spiral mirroring the CoD games.

Is there any game modes similar to rush in battlefield? It's one I actually really enjoyed on bf1

Came across a knife fight button mashing sequence where it wants me to press random keys and move the mouse cursor over to a helmet or something.

2 tries and I quit the game. Doubtful it'll ever be loaded again.

Sprint-cancel for reloads doesn't seem to be a thing in this game

I keep finding myself cancelling reloads from muscle memory and then ending up short on ammo in a gun fight :P

I raged at this as well. Who wants to just mash a button over and over. Once past it though hasn’t happened again

I'm tempted to trade this is for Origins. Not because it's bad, it's not. But between the servers, campers and how much I'll get for It, I think it would be wise to trade it in and get it again in say, a month.

However, what has annoyed me no end is that the SMGs have better range than the rifles... like, really?

It will get better it always does! sledgehammer were very quick with the patches on Advanced Warfare so expect overpowered guns like the Bar and some of the Smg’s to get nerfed in the next week or two! Hang on in there things will improve!

After much deliberation, I've traded it in. I will pick it up again but I'm getting annoyed at It, so I'll only ruin it if I keep at it for now.

Aside from the SMG range thing, another problem I have is that it feels too familiar. This setting has been done, there's nothing essentially new to it. I was a fan of AW and IW, as they did something new. This just feels like a rehash of WaW, so I don't know if this will last for me anyway.
