Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You know how Google do on this day in history? Well I came across this image today and said I'd better post it before Wednesday arrives and it disappears, it reminded me of Pikmin. Where on Earth is Pikmin 4?

    Oh, and Ikaruga is out.
    It's still fantastic!

Interestingly, the game is so small, at least in its original.Dreamcast guise, that it could be included as an email attachment!
Dodgy compilations of Dreamcast games would include it as an Easter egg in the main menu.

The Pokemon news was generating chat, so I moved to it's own thread.

I enjoyed the first Sega All Stars game, though I never got into the Transformed sequel, it does seem to have been received well, so I have high hopes for this.

I think i actually prefer Transformed over Mario kart 8. The 3 different vehicle types was a cool idea. Loved the flying parts of races. But i already own MK8 on Switch and not sure i need a second Kart game.

Prefer Mario Kart to Transformed, but I'd much prefer a port of Transformed than (as you say) a second "vanilla" kart game.

    Wait and see I guess.

That Team Sonic Racing trailer looks like it was ripped from the beginning of a far longer trailer. I think Sega's hand was forced after Walmart's leak and they had to stick something out. That's what you get for needlessly dragging out and teasing this game for months and months on end.

Yes! Graphics were gorgeous at the time. I've great memories of that game. Especially the races where you had to collect the silver coins to really finish the game. Was nice to have a story to go with the racing.

Why have I not heard of Yomawari? That game looks incredible. Is that local 2-player I see??

It's the first time on a Nintendo platform. There's 2 player in Yomawari: Midnight Shadows.
Twice the fright! Traverse the haunting world of Yomawari: Night Alone as a young girl searches for her sister, then share in the terror facing schoolgirls Yui and Haru in Yomawari: Midnight Shadows. Uncover the mysteries plaguing a rural Japanese town, hide from the things lurking in the night, and maybe get home alive…

Two Terrifying Tales ‐ Experience the spooky stories of Yomawari: Night Alone and Yomawari: Midnight Shadows in this creepy collection!
Unlock The Mystery ‐ Search for hidden items, add them to your collection, and use them to interact with spirits or to unlock new story events.
Spiritual Interaction ‐ In each chapter of the game, you will encounter spiritual creatures inspired by Japanese urban legends who lurk in the shadows – but are they harmless, purely evil, or simply misunderstood?
Stealth Action ‐ Avoid evil spirits by tip-toeing or sprinting away, taking cover in a bush, or by using items to distract them. But be careful – some evil spirits may surprise you with their considerable speed.

There's a Limited Edition on the NISA America website.

    Iro Hero Trailer (Nintendo Switch)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXtdvFZHhs4

RETRO SHMUP ‘IRO HERO’ BLASTS OFF ON SWITCH JUNE 7TH
    Pre-orders begin on the Nintendo eShop May 31st for $12.99 / €12.99 / £11.69

Hong Kong - May 31, 2018 – Independent developer and publisher, Eastasiasoft Limited, alongside development partner, Artax Games, today announced that its retro-inspired vertical-scrolling shmup Iro Hero will launch worldwide June 7th on Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders will go live on the Nintendo eShop May 31st for $12.99 / €12.99 / £11.69 / ¥1480.

Iro Hero merges the old school pixelated aesthetic of arcade classics with modern gameplay sensibilities such as complex enemy AI, polarity mechanics, and mind-bending puzzle elements. Players will have to shift polarities to avoid color-coded hazards, balance an array of unlockable skills, and make use of reflective surfaces and color areas if they’re to make it through Iro Hero’s 9 action-packed stages intact.

Iro Hero’s story is set in the year 2306, a century after humans learned how to harness their energy to produce electricity. In the intervening years, nefarious enterprises have turned this gift into a curse, with humans reduced to little more than batteries. Following the death of his mother, a teenager named Iro learns that he may be the key to mankind’s freedom.

“Iro Hero takes what I love about classic shmups like Ikaruga and adds a whole new dimension of strategy and complexity,” said Artax Games Lead Game Designer Jesús Luengo Rico. “I’m thrilled to finally let players discover the tight gameplay of Iro Hero.”

    Features:
    • A two-color polarity system, emphasizing risk vs reward gameplay where you charge up your powers in matching colors.
    • Discover an exciting story that takes place across 9 action-packed levels.
    • Encounter 10 different types of enemies with more than one hundred different behaviors.
    • Defeat 10 final bosses in the vein of classic arcades.
    • Unlock special skills, offering many creative and strategic options.
    • Acquire upgrades to increase the firepower and capabilities of your spaceship.
    • Rise to the top of the online leaderboards.

I've the A10s for PS4 and A50s for Xbox. A50s are exceptional but the A10s are very good for the price.

The Super Mario one in the photos look to be changeable caps for the A40/50 though.

But does it connect to the Switch via bluetooth (not a chance I'd say) or through some sort of frankenstein connection via a mobile phone app??
