OK, found an honest review (9/10). Looks like a keeper. :)

Under a tenner in South Africa.

Now that you say that, there was a guy yesterday on Youtube saying not to let this game go under the radar. He's well known, I think it was this game, I didn't watch it, I just scrolled by it.

Yeah Spawnwave was one of them.
RGT 85 was another, and Wulff Den and BeatEmUps.

Big "SPONSORED" band down in the lower left of that video, and those put me right off tbh.
Glad to hear it is reviewing well aside from this too though. Looks somewhere between BroForce and *insert random roguelite here*

There's a possibility Mortal Kombat 11 may be delayed a bit on Switch. Some retailers have changed the date to May 11 from April 23rd.

New Nintendo Switch: 6 Hardware Upgrades We Must See(Digital Foundry)

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=coi9hdNYyBE
    1. 4K output support (upscaling the games to 4K and outputting a 4K signal to the TV to avoid double-upscaling)
    2. WiFi quality improvements
    3. better dock to stop scratching the screen
    4. larger internal storage
    5. better kickstand
    6. bigger screen size (smaller bezels)

    https://www.resetera.com/threads/digital-foundry-new-nintendo-switch-6-hardware-upgrades-we-must-see.93593/

My suggestion, well one of them, would be to make better and larger Joy-Cons.

Arabian Nights Adventure City of Brass Lashes, Slashes its Way to Nintendo Switch
CANBERRA, ACT – Jan. 15, 2019 – City of Brass, the Arabian Nights-inspired first-person rogue-lite adventure from the BioShock veterans at Uppercut Games, will swing onto Nintendo Switch™ Feb. 8, 2019.

Enter the legendary City of Brass and plunder the fabled treasures within its accursed walls. Armed with a bullwhip and blades, embark on a grand heist, lashing and slashing through the legions of lost souls who guard over the vast riches that adorn this treacherous town.

City of Brass revolves around the rhythmic interplay between melee combat and movement, as the protagonist’s whip can be used both in and out of battle in a variety of ways. It can disarm foes, trip and stun them, and open defensive opportunities that can be exploited by other weapons. The whip can also be used to grab faraway objects and swing to safety, or manipulate booby traps littered throughout the mythical metropolis, turning the environment on its unwitting denizens.

With procedurally-generated environments that see the labyrinthine streets shift on every run, City of Brass urges players to put their newfound knowledge from every playthrough to the test. But the challenge can also be tailored to every individual with the Blessings & Burdens system, which provides a wealth of modifiers to adjust the difficulty and game feel with optional modifiers to various game systems, including player health, damage output, item cost, and more.

The Nintendo Switch™ version will also launch with three unlockable characters alongside the starting Fool and Traveler duo. This group includes the fast but frail knife-fighting Brigand, the spear-throwing Soldier, and the strong but slow Hellion genie, each bringing something different to the table and keeping the experience fresh while players strive to attain the ultimate goal.

This new release also features a myriad of enhancements made to the game since its initial launch, including new relics, weapons, enemies, and various quality of life improvements.

“City of Brass brings the stories from Arabian Nights to life in a fast-paced hack-and-slash adventure that draws on our team’s experience working on titles like the BioShock series,” said Ed Orman, co-founder and designer, Uppercut Games. “We’ve continued to support the game since it launched earlier this year and look forward to introducing it to a new audience with all those improvements baked in when City of Brass comes to Nintendo Switch this February.”

City of Brass is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam. The game was financed with the assistance of Screen Australia’s Games Enterprise Program and supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese (European and Brazilian), Polish, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) language options.

Is it the size of the joycons? What are you basing that suggestion on? Out of interest

That drum has been banged for a while, but it is his opinion which he's entitled to, but it doesn't reflect the mean tbh.
Most are fairly happy with the Joycons and their versatile nature.

Only problem I have with the joycons is the lack of a d-pad so I ordered the Hori d-pad one and it's perfect - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07FSWM4Z2

Reviews are a bit mixed, mainly in that it's an 18 year old game with 18 year old mechanics that haven't aged well. If you can deal with that, it's as good as it was back then, but it's more of a facelift that a reconstruction, which is a pity. I can't remember anything about the game, but I know I really enjoyed it at the time. I've a long flight next month so I may get it for that.

Tempted to get one, I really miss a proper D-pad. I wonder what the chances are of Nintendo actually offering an official D-pad joycon at some point. If they can make money out of selling extra controllers, then surely it’s just a matter of time.

The new NES games are out now (Zelda 2 and Blaster Master).
There are two SP games too (Ninja Gaiden SP on stage 6-4, and Ghost and Goblins SP on Stage 6 with daggers).

Special versions of the games that are basically save states near the end (or start you off fully equipped, like the original Zelda)

I replayed it only a couple of years back. I love old Capcom.
It's a win win for me.

For newcomers I'd say the controls scheme is probably a turn off.

I'd prefer analog triggers and larger face buttons tbh. I understand why they made them small so you can use one joy con as an extra controller but its awful for that imo. Plus the big chunky buttons on the pro controller are so much better to play with than in handheld.

I don't think detached joycons are intended for long play times. For a quick blast of multiplayer Mario Kart, Bomberman, Mario Party etc., they're perfect.

Did wonder what the little red rosette was on a few games.

Ment to be just ok :(

Love the series but looks like a spin-off at best and apparently lacks some of the charm of the original titles on the Wii.

Think the other 2 games were also just reviewed as okay. I'll still get it, but I'd say we'll be able to pick it up cheap enough soon

Defense Grid 2 for Nintendo Switch Official Trailer

I came on here to post this.

I love Tower Defence games and got this and the first one on Steam. Loved the 2 of them. Myself and herself pulled a sicky for a few days and just sat at home playing them. Very addictive. This will be a preorder for me (10% off).

I just went for it. About an hour in. Controls are fine, possibly because I grew up with that style. It's pretty fun so far and makes me want a Dino Crisis remake.

If Alien: Blackout Came To Consoles, FoxNext Games Says It’d Think of Switch First

    https://www.dualshockers.com/if-alien-blackout-came-to-consoles-foxnext-games-says-itd-think-of-switch-first/
“I think Switch is a good one to bring up and we’ve certainly seen many games go from mobile to console or more likely console to mobile. If I had to pick a platform to put it (Alien: Blackout) on, I’d pick Switch.” - Vice President of FoxNext Games, TQ Jefferson

Remember the $h1t storm around Aliens: Colonial Marines on Wii U? The Wii U version was cancelled, probably not a bad thing as it was a terrible game. This game is controversial too as it's on mobile and tablets rather than consoles.

I went looking for a trailer and the backlash is absolutely huge, I'd no idea.

    Alien: Blackout Trailer (Mobile)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXgAMbyZZS8

Less than 1,000 likes versus almost 32,000 dislikes on the official trailer and numerous videos and articles slamming it.
