Disgaea 5 - I liked the demo, but I wouldn't say I loved it. I like the idea of the game, so is the demo an accurate representation of the gameplay, or do you need to get into the stats to really enjoy it?

Disgaea games are MASSIVE, and really only come into their own in the post game stuff (not that they're lacking in enjoyment up until that point). It's not a demoable game, really, and nor is it something for everyone. Frankly, it's a niche within a niche. But if you're willing to give them time, it's easy to lose yourself in the staggering amount of interconnected systems.

I played lots of Disgaea 4, but never much 5 (for no particular reason). I think I'll pick up the Switch version though, as it really is a portable friendly game - can easily see myself making more process on a bus than I would sitting at home.

TOKYO RPG FACTORY ANNOUNCES SECOND ARTISAN TITLE “LOST SPHEAR”

Restore the World’s Memories Early 2018

LOS ANGELES (May 30, 2017) – Tokyo RPG Factory, the SQUARE ENIX® studio dedicated to creating games that blend Japanese role-playing games with the latest technology for a new generation of gamers, has announced their all-new title, LOST SPHEAR (read as “Lost Sphere”). The title is set to arrive on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Nintendo Switch™ console, and STEAM® in early 2018 for $49.99.

The adventure of LOST SPHEAR begins in a remote town where a young boy, Kanata, awakens from a devastating dream to find his hometown disappearing. A physical package is now available for pre-order exclusively from the SQUARE ENIX Online Store for the PlayStation®4 system and Nintendo Switch. Fans who pre-order the game from the SQUARE ENIX Online Store will receive two music tracks as a gift at launch.

Wow, PS4, Switch and Steam... sucks to be a XB1 only owner these days!

Any word on when that Shakedown Hawaii game is due out?

Haven't seen much about it since the announcement trailer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,044 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Noticing that a lot these days. Can't remember others but I'm sure I've seen PS4 and Switch only (maybe Steam) on a few games. Must be to do with the parity clause Microsoft insists on. I know I've seen complaints about it before

Too many indie looking games coming out, needs some bigger deals to be announced.

Too many indie looking games coming out, needs some bigger deals to be announced.

I think you'll find that this is a generally held view.
    That said...
The PS4 schedule is particularly prone to indie padding, and at this stage in the PS4's life span it had nothing to compare with even the few titles the Switch has gracing it's decks at the moment.
With the genuine, bonafide exclusives of Arms and Splatoon 2 arriving in the coming months it'll be an even better purchase, when the PS4 was still surviving on some terrible "launch window" titles and Resogun.

Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero is coming out on the 8th of June, it should be about €20.

    Bit overpriced for that.

€16.99 seems like a fair enough price to me.

Yeah, maybe so. It's 20 on steam now. Thought it was a lot cheaper.

That looks great. Next year though...

So this game is coming to the Nintendo Switch. It's been known for the past couple of months but it's the first I've heard of it and don't remember anyone posting anything about it. It looks interesting.

Em, turns out that game above isn't guaranteed to come out on Switch. The plan is for a version in the future but there's nothing official yet. The poster on Youtube just stuck a Nintendo Switch logo on it. The game below, however, is coming to the Switch.

I got Poi last year in a Humble Bundle but never installed it.

I just had a go there and it's a lovely game - a really nice Mario 64/Banjo Kazooie vibe and a good fit for the Switch.

I find it hard to say, but the Switch version will undoubtedly outstrip the Humble price, never mind the value added by the other games in the bundle.

The End Is Nigh is coming out on PC (July 12th) and Switch (later).

As far as I'm concerned, I'll buy anything that Edmund McMillan releases without even reading reviews.

Looks like a spiritual successor to Super Meat Boy (without meat) and the trailer is hilarious.
If it has the depth of Isaac and the challenge of SMB, it'll be a winner.

    600+ levels!
    12+ explorable chapters!
20+ collectible and fully playable mini game cartridges! (each with their own tiny achievements!)
80+ achievements that will make you feel good about yourself
100s of collectible little squishy tumors!
Loads of hidden extras and endings that you will probably see someone else find before you do!
    And stress!

Hollow Knight for Switch is feature complete. Just tweaks and optimisations left.

The Switch version will also include the upcoming Hidden Dreams DLC for free (2 new bosses, 2 new music tracks, a new upgrade and a new stag station).

Anything McMillan creates is a must have in my household too.
I saw a physical copy of Super Meat Boy for the PS4 in GS for €29.99 and I'm sorely tempted to buy it, just because it's awesome, though I already have it on most formats I own that support it.

The PS4, PS Vita, and Wii U versions of Multiverse Edition will cost €29.99 / $29.99 / £24.99, while the Switch version will be more expensive at €39.99.

  • Registered Users Posts: 55,509 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

€39.99 for Switch, €29.99 for all other platforms. Hmmm.... :(

Hopefully the digital version (without documentary, soundtrack, poster and art) is more on par with the other versions.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

The soundtrack is exclusively bundled with the Switch version and is not included in the others, only as a pro order incentive.
