Platform holder will not release a new model this year in order to further grow Switch and Switch Lite

    So 1st January 2021. ;)

What can I say. Nintendo have some serious design chops. Not just in games, but in the hardware too.
Great that this is on the mainline switch. I bet we'll see a lite version too.
Really, If you have an AC fan in your life, who doesn't have a Switch ...

The joycon drift which people still have issues with would argue against that, I also think the chance of many Switch still working in 10 years time is a very, very low possibility no matter how well they are looked after.

It's not like Nintendo have ever lied before.

Switch Lite revealed in July 2019 and released in September 2019. You could say an 8 month gap isn't "immediate". Whereas Nintendo's president is saying straight out that there won't be a new model in 2020.

I was more referring to the aesthetic of the AC game and dock.

(Yep, the joycon drift and other joycon/controller issues are a big deal - and inexcusable for a company famous for the reliability of their hardware)

    Edit
( and non standard usb charging / dock )

Strong rumours that Platinum will be launching a Kickstarter for Wonderful 101 on Switch and other platforms. Some talk that Nintendo have sold the ownership to Platinum.

Will be there day 1 for that for sure. Very underrated game.

The Wonderful 101 is Nintendo's ip. I don't know why they would relinquish the rights to it. Sure it sold poorly on Wii U, but so did a lot of games, and so did a lot of other ip on other Nintendo systems. It also seems odd that Platinum Games would have to start a Kickstarter campaign. I think there's something definitely happening with it soon though because there was this Tweet only the other day.

Both the time and date read 101 on the computer monitor. And there's a Switch in the shot.

Edit: Damn, I wanted the post to be at 10:01. Grr

Nintendo could've given/sold the ip back to them to maintain their relationship.

Nintendo have money coming out of their @$$. I wouldn't want a port, but I don't see why they couldn't fund a Switch port of The Wonderful 101 at least. Platinum Games wanted to do it and it wouldn't cost much. It was 10GB on Wii U and could probably be easily reduced to fit on an 8GB cartridge.

For a man that loves Nintendo you really don't love Nintendo!

I'm cross too. Someone got a better bargain than me in GameStop ; no new hardware this year ; and no new AAA game announcements ! :)

Platinum are teasing something - not sure what it could be yet. Rumours abound on Twitter about Wonderful 101 (possibly crowdsourced?) and, of course, we're all patiently waiting on news of Bayonetta 3.

This looks like a fun. It's a port of an iOS game for 3 quid.

    Goblin Sword

And as someone commented re: pixel art ( so true )

"Man, the art style is beautiful. It never gets old."

    W101
    http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/02/wonderful_101_confirmed_for_switch_but_theres_a_catch

50k dollars seems like small change to port this to a different platform and architecture. Plus support in docked and handheld ...

I know Wii U had both modes too, but the underlying processors etc are different between Wii U and switch. I guess they already have the experience on site after doing the bayonetta ports.

Switch version has reached its goal already, so I guess we can consider that confirmed at this point. I'll pick this up for Switch - I regret not playing it on Wii U.

    Kickstarter for W101:

    https://t.co/Hhp4WP36ta?amp=1

Already €130,000+ funded from a goal of €45,000.

Got my pledge in already. Not a bad price all in really, about €41 including shipping.

One of the items on some of the rewards is 'Get Blocked on Twitter by Kamiya' :P

Estimated delivery of April 2020 - does that mean it'll release this April? Seems very soon!

My battery seems to be dead (drops rapidly, get maybe 20 mins use). I have mine since near launch (cant remember exactly when) . It gets very light use , so i'd have expected better. Need to try source a decent replacement battery.

Yeah this is more of a pre-order system than a traditional Kickstarter. The work is already done on the port, the game is good to go, they're just selling pre-orders.

Have it on Wii U so won't bother, but safe to say the Steam version is happening. Mad seeing the counter just going up constantly

That's good news! Great price too - around 30 for a digital, or 40 for a physical copy.

So Nintendo are allowing it to happen. Maybe due to close relationship or maybe Platinum threatened to stop making games for them, which I doubt. Guessing a Switch port being the lowest tier was a condition
Now, with the support of Nintendo, we have been given the opportunity to bring this game to the Nintendo Switch and other platforms as well! This is an amazing opportunity, and an important step toward our goals.

    And Free DLC for backers
Down the line, once additional content and modes have been created, backers will receive all of in the form of FREE DLC.

The Outer Worlds getting delayed on Switch due to Virtuos, the studio porting it, being caught up in the coronavirus panic. When it is released it will now be released in a physical version instead of a code in a box.

I will say that there was a similar rumour a little over a year ago and nothing came of it, thus far at least.

2 new SNES games and 2 new NES games coming this month. Underwhelmed. We waited 6 months for this?
