3 Bethesda games? Time to burn some incense again and pray for ... well, Prey :D and the Dishonoured games. That'd do nicely.

The Capcom exclusive game for Switch is Spyborgs 2. :p

I'm hoping Fallout collection for one of those three Bethesda games.

If it was Fallout New Vegas, I'd take a week off work.

Seems like the BioShock performance is very good but Xcom may be lacking a bit, hopefully a few patches will smooth things out.

EDIT: Seems like borderlands runs very well too, locked at 30, for solo and split screen and has gyro aiming.

xcom 2 had bad performance on the home consoles e.g. xbox one from the outset that was never resolved (except on the more powerful one x)

especially as bioshock and borderlands run well from the outset I wouldn't have high hopes that this will be fixable.

That's a shame, the one that I was actually interested in. At this point, I'd rather just play it on PC or something.

    it's certainly not game-breaking being a turn-based game

Sure isn't Xcom just a ripoff of Mario & Rabbids?

Xcom seems to be digital only here. In case you are looking for it. At least I can't find in physically. Pretty expensive too. I'll wait for it to come down since I've played through it twice on PC. And it was glitchy as hell there too!

Just let them port the PS1 Xcom games, no need to remaster, just the two will do!

Now that Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has cleared the runway, it's time for this lady to step forth from the shadows.

I think Metroid Prime Trilogy is next for take-off. Nintendo even gave us the hint in the Paper Mario: The Origami King trailer.

With E3 cancelled, Nintendo don't have to wait for 9th June. It can be dropped at any time prior(or after, but that's unlikely). This week and Wednesday is as good a day as any for the announcement. I'll be curious to see how much effort they've put into it, if they've added anything and its price.

Plus, there's so many rumours about its imminent release, they can't all be wrong.

Outbuddies DX launches 5th June for Switch

Following a shipwreck, adventurer and maritime archaeologist Nikolay Bernstein regains consciousness 36.000 feet under the sea. He's severely wounded and unwillingly connected to a supernatural Buddy-unit. Searching for answers about his displacement our main protagonist digs deep into the lost Undercity, gradually realizing an ominous presence hollowing in its shadowed caverns.

On your journey home you will share your fate with a friendly tribe of mining creatures, the Wozan, who fear the Old Gods and strive to get back to the surface since their ancestors had been enslaved 5000 years ago. Some of them were able to flee and founded secret colonies deep inside the sunken ruins, others are still exploited by the hostile creatures that have overtaken the city since the Old Gods suddenly disappeared.

Outbuddies DX is coming soon to Nintendo Switch and Xbox One with the PS4 version planned for later this year. Developed by Julian Laufer over the course of seven years Outbuddies is a feature-packed otherworldly adventure with deadly enemies and an ever-trustworthy robot sidekick, Buddy.

Set deep in the Ocean and infested with hostile Lovecraftian creatures and lethal environmental hazards, players must dash, dodge, and blast through Bahlam, a danger-filled sunken fortress of the Old Gods. By deploying the Buddy unit to manipulate and scout the surroundings through hacking, scanning and telekinesis, the players will discover ancient weapon systems and gear upgrades to battle through a gigantic sunken labyrinth. Outbuddies’ local co-op mode allows a second player to control Buddy with an expanded tool set.

Based on the feedback from core-speedrunners and Metroid-enthusiasts since the game‘s PC release, Outbuddies DX now offers vastly improved visuals and a variety of new features added to the well-received original.

What if Nintendo release a VR headset for Metroid Prime Trilogy, something akin to the Labo VR headset, only far better? For starters, it wouldn't need to be held up to your face.

Or maybe by the time Metroid Prime 4 arrives, a Switch Pro or Switch successor could do this better again.

The Academy: The First Riddle - Release Date Announcement Trailer

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=iYtz_DXiFpM
Developer Pine Studio, the company behind the well-received Faraway puzzle adventure series, has announced that its latest Harry Potter and Professor Layton-inspired title, “The Academy: The First Riddle,” will launch June 19 on PC and Mac via Steam, the App Store and Google Play. The game will arrive to Playstation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch later this summer.

“We’re huge fans of the Professor Layton series and its colorful puzzles,” says Pine Studio’s Boris Barbir. “We wanted to make a game that would allow players on all platforms to experience that thrill of getting a puzzle just right. We are big fans of Harry Potter, so the school is greatly inspired by Hogwarts, but it’s also inspired by the architecture of our city, Zagreb. Early on in development, it became clear that what we actually set off to achieve was to capture the essence of being a kid - the feeling that adventure lies around every corner.”

The game will place players in the shoes of Sam, a freshman at Arbor’s famed, yet mysterious, Academy. Over the course of this roughly 20-hour adventure, fans will sink their teeth into over 200 puzzles and riddles scattered across the campus. The puzzles will guide the players through the central story of the game and the mystery looming over the school. When fans aren’t busy unraveling the school’s past, they’ll be able to engage in a host of fun activities with an array of memorable characters.

The Academy: The First Riddle will launch June 19 on PC and Mac via Steam for $19.99, on Google Play, and the App Store for $9.99. The title will arrive to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch later this summer.

The Outer Worlds Switch Review: Ambitious But Ultimately Not Good Enough

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=ZRWp5_FBvOs

The Switch version is hideous by comparison and once it's been seen, it cannot be unseen. It is sooo stripped back and still runs poorly. Add to this the Switch physical version costing around €20 more and a day one 6GB download patch, it's bad all round. Digital Foundry aren't impressed either.

I've read it looks and plays worse than the Witcher 3 unpatched add to the the day one patch and that's a sad state of affairs for Outer Worlds

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 36,711 CMod ✭✭✭✭pixelburp

Complaining about it already in the main Outer Worlds thread but that really is a shocking quality level for a major release. How anyone looked at the FPS, pop-in or asset quality and said "good enough!" is beyond me. Looks broken.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,348 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

That's a real shame, especially after how good the port of Journey to the Savage Planet was.

a port too far for the the switch. too recent a game with more demanding technical assets (objects and object textures) and large open areas playing a big part of the game.

that's the end of AAA ports of recent games really with the new consoles coming being literally 10 times the power of the switch, and that's docked mode switch, nevermind handheld.

so the games for the PS5 and Xbox Series X will not be port-able.

My copy of Outer Worlds has already shipped, I'm sure I'll still enjoy it, even if it does look like a skinned turd. It's just scratching my Fallout itch so I can take a few bumps along the way.
