I've read that the file size for XC2 is 13GB's. I'd be curious to see how big the game is in comparison to XCX. It's half the file size. I hope it's not sacrificing textures, sound quality, etc.

I have a fierce aversion to DLC or an "Expansion Pass" as they call this. And I'm also skeptical. This game seems to have been developed far quicker than XCX. Game companies just can't be satisfied with €60, they have to milk customers. I think they may have developed so much for €60 and now want another €30 for the last year of development. I also think it's a way for companies to offset to a certain degree the loss of secondhand game sales.

XCX required building an entire new engine from that used by XC1 and XC2 uses the same engine as XCX so cut the development time way down. as for the game size they could have simply added new compression techniques or perhaps it has to do with the cel shaded art style used in it vs the 'real' look used in XCX

theres a big difference between dlc that is available day 1 and could easily have been included in the full game and dlc like this that is developed and added to the game over time long after the game is released requiring further work by a development team. if it adds content like nintendo usually seem to do with their dlc i have no problem with paying for it.

€40 for a digital code of an old port that runs worse than elsewhere? You people have too much money to waste. I wouldn't spend more than €30 on a physical copy and even that doesn't have the full game on the cartridge.

How many copies of Starfox Zero did you buy?

One Collector's Edition, 2 regular copies and the boxed download code version of Star Fox Guard. Touché! Complete waste of money.

i have no other way to play it so it's worth €40 to me. I was going to pay €60 until i saw it cheaper.

You own multiple platforms? That seems like a waste of money to me....

LOL yeah even multiple of multiples, like 2 ps4's and 2 xbox's and a switch on the way from the jolly fat man :P

I both both for slightly less than that on the PS4 DOOM is great but Skyrim is the ultimate I want to like it game but it feels archaic, even more so in a world where you have Breath of the Wild. Its nice to see Bethesda studios games coming but I'd far rather play New Vegas than Skyrim.....

I'm the opposite, Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4 feel like the same game upgraded as they go.

Skyrim I've never really played, without the time to invest.
That said, I put many hours into BotW, but Skyrim in this new system seems like a game whose time has come, for me at least.

I'm truthfully overwhelmed with the range of titles on the Switch at this stage, some eight months in.
    And it's just getting better.
So, yup, I'm pretty pleased with the Switch so far.

Warriors is a spin off title like Hyrule Warriors, it is a Musou game based on Dynasty Warriors.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is an epic action RPG, you would get far more out of it, it took me over 100 hours to finish the first.

I actually really hate that they did this spin off Dynasty warriors thing with Fire emblem. I love fire emblem, but I never liked those DW type games. Was looking forward to traditional Fire emblem. :(
As for Xenoblade, I got the first one on 3ds and I just could not stomack it with very very poor visual quality and very very generic showelware side quests. I did loved the setting and idea of world though.
As soon as Zelda is finished I'll be getting Xenoblade or Disgeae 5, for long lasting rpg type.

I'm saying the same thing about Skyrim. If they launched a boxed copy for 30euro, I'd buy it (for the second time). 60e for, at this stage, an older game, no thanks.

Doom and Skyrim had to be 35eu max. I would buy Doom for that much no problem what so ever. 60? Feck off m8.

Isn't that one game, Rayman Legends, a game that was indeed released on the WiiU, and the Vita, and the PS3, and the PS4, and the 360, and PC, and the Xbox One... also the Switch.

Kind of nice to say that the Switch version is a port of the WiiU edition but far more likely is a development from the mass of other development across all of the formats.

Beyond that the rest are further examples of multiplatform titles, so the Mario/Rabbids crossover is the only genuine original Switch game.

    Caved.

Preordered Skyrim and Xenoblade for €40ea in South Africa store. Sitting downloaded on switch now just waiting for go live.

Skyrim... A bit more than I'd like to have paid as I paid full whack for it and the expansions on pc and sunk a load of time into it... However after not touching the PC version for at least the last 2 years i realise I'll only ever be able to finish this game on the go so switch it is!

Xenoblade... Expansion pass my ass! Another €25 in SA store... wait 13 months for a new story, and only pittance of items until then... I'll pass on that thanks.

Switch sales are still strong though cut in half. Super Mario Odyssey is selling well too, though that too has had a big drop-off. More than good enough to claim the number 2 spot. I'm surprised the Japanese like COD so much.

So this is a question to everybody in the thread.

What are the chances of a lot of the PS4 games above getting a Switch port in the future?

I'm holding out on buying 3rd party PS4 games in the hope that they also come to the Switch instead. Much rather play on my Switch than my PS4 Pro tbh.

Obviously, some PS4 games above might be in some sort of contract with Sony so no port. And I know, they wouldn't be as impressive looking on the Switch, something I personally don't really care about.

Never turn my PS4 on anymore, and can't WAIT for Doom and Skyrim. LA Noire can wait for a sale for now.

The non Sony exclusives, so Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunters, are all coming to the Switch in one form or another.
CoD will almost certainly be on this Switch in 2018.
In fact, there probably aren't many non exclusive titles that won't make the move, if there's a paying public to buy them.

FPS games seem to have gained a lot of traction in the last 2 years in Japan. Noticed it with the weekly charts. Pretty much the same as here now with CoD.

Ugh, I just don't get CoD, never did. Not not into it at all. But I do love other FPS games, odd. Maybe I'm old? Can't relate to kids today? No idea.
