    HI

I am looking for a 55-58" tv, used primarily for Sky, Netflix and occasional PS4. Budget is 1100-1200 so the highly rated Samsung ks7000 seems to be the obvious choice but given the lack of 4k content, is there any advantage of 4k? I've read online comments that SD content is worse on a 4k so should I be concerned given how much is still broadcast in SD? Are the Panasonics better in this regard?

    Thanks

    Hi 2Tractors,

Thanks for your message and apologies for the delay getting back to you. You can't really beat the Samsung KS range this year unless you're going for an OLED. The problem with Standard definition is it doesn't look great on any LED TV but I haven't noticed it looking any worse on a 4K TV. If anything the HDR panel increases the colour representation and a good 4K TV will have a better refresh rate so the motion blur won't be as bad. As with anything you are limited by your source and a 4K TV will not do an adequate job of upscaling SD.

Saying that we have SD content playing on our showroom TVs and they look good! The Panasonics are very good as well but I would definitely prefer the KS series unless you are going for the DX802 or DX902.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David
